Bro, the frick you gonna do to protect it?

We've already seen this movie. We already picked the pieces up. Get out.

If you're not in the storm surge zone you probably should just sit tight and leave after the storm if need be. There are people that live close to the water that absolutely need to get out now or they'll get washed out to sea. Most of Tampa can sit tight and leave some space on the road who are in legitimate danger. Those a little further inland are evacuating mostly because it's going to be uncomfortable after it passes without electricity.

I'm def not one to evacuate, but if it keeps the track, I can't see how anyone in TB can stay. 15ft of storm surge, theres 0 time to get out of the way and nobody is coming to help.

Some people are stubborn. But this one I would be leaving for. Anything you leave can be replaced. GET OUT….

my aunt is in St Pete = we convinced her to get out - she is recovering from cancer treatments and really doesn't need to be stuck there

Spoken like someone who has never been through a major hurricane. So if you arent at risk for flooding, youre good? Dont worry about the 130+ mph sustained winds?

Ill let you in on a secret, nobody in a low lying area like that is immune to flooding during a storm like this. Ask the people in New Orleans.

What an ignorant comment.

Those drones only have so much gas it can hold in the tank.

yes, but you could schedule them in shifts.. 4 hours on.. go back to base.. the new one arrives as the other is leaving.. rinse and repeat.. I would think they would want to study them that way as well..

A Cat 4 at landfall is going to rip roofs off houses, 75% of trees will be gone and a 15 ft storm surge is going to flood shite inland for a ways. Every canal, creek and tributary will back up and flood. People should get the frick out.

Been through plenty. More than most, even on this board. 130+ is terrible but most structures in Florida are built to take it. There won't be power and it's going to be miserable but the amount of people who die from hurricane winds is almost zero. The surge is the real lethal danger. The people that live in the low elevations close to the water need to be given priority to get out. Storm surge is a certain killer, high winds are not. It's a simple numbers game.
