We've had 8 tornado warnings since 11am for Martin and St Lucie counties, absolutely brutal out here today

The videos are nuts. A couple of large ones. It would feel apocalyptic to be dealing with a big arse tornado in the middle of a hurricane.

Yeah, my dad in Palm City said Steve Weagle said something along the lines of “just consider us to be in a tornado warning for a while,” a good bit ago. Brutal.

boil

A phonetic spelling of the word "boil" is "ball", as in the City of Balling Springs, SC.

He's close by, if he needs anything let me know . Most of the warnings I've seen have been west Martin county or Palm City north

Good luck getting everyone out of Tampa next time.

This is always the danger with storms like this. I understand you have to predict doom, but when it weakens like Milton is doing people lose trust and ride out the one that could actually wipe tampa off the map.

We went through Collier, Lee, and Charlotte around 11am this morning. Constant tornado warnings were wearing out my phone battery

Any chance this weakens to a Cat 2 by landfall?

It’ll be a Cat 1. Maybe even a TS.

NHC won’t admit it, but looking at it now that’s what it appears it will be by then

wxman57 on S2K:

“Milton appears to have weakened to a Cat 2, based on recon. Maybe 95 kts. NHC will keep it a 3 to make sure no one returns to the beaches. Even though the sustained surface wind has dropped, it still has strong winds aloft that can dip down to the surface at times, producing 110-120 mph, maybe higher. It's a little larger than it was, but not a large hurricane by any means.”

Cell north of Yeehaw Junction is the cell of the day so far. 3 tornadoes so far and it split again.

Absolutely! He's in Crane Creek, so all have been close enough to be like "oh shite," but thankfully nothing (radar indicated or otherwise)... yet.
