You do realize that some drones are the size of smaller airplanes
Are we flying smaller airplanes into Category 5 hurricanes?

All Louisiana spaghetti models must have at least one track through Lake Charles. Not my rule. Just happens.

saw a post on X where the Florida Highway Patrol had commandeered one lane of traffic on the interstate southbound and was escorting fuel trucks from the ports.
Every governor of a gulf coast state should be taking notes from Desantis on how to handle a disaster

How cool would this be?
I'm sure the people in FL wouldn't think it's cool, because if it recurved it would be caught up in the next front and hit FL again !

For the morons downvoting...
The strongest quadrant of a hurricane is typically the right front quadrant when looking at the direction the storm is moving; this is because the hurricane's forward motion adds to the wind speed in that area, creating stronger winds and higher storm surge potential.
Key points about the right front quadrant:
Most dangerous: This is usually considered the most dangerous part of a hurricane due to the combined effects of the hurricane's rotation and its forward movement.
Higher storm surge: The right front quadrant often produces the highest storm surge because of the added push from the hurricane's motion.
Increased tornado risk: This quadrant also has a higher likelihood of spawning tornadoes.

We have in-laws (extended) in Punta Gorda who will not leave.
The homes on West Retta Esplanade along Charlotte Harbor took 4ft for Helene. Those are the first line of houses. If they took on water from Helene I don't understand staying. I imagine Milton is going to be a lot worse for those houses.

I have family with twin 4 year old girls at Disney World Orlando this week. Can’t get a plane ride out and there are no rental cars available. Apparently they are stuck, going to have to ride it out. I wanted to see opinions on how bad it’s going to be in Orlando.
