Kinda some mixed signals from Isaias this afternoon. The infrared satellite is not that healthy (could be somewhat due to the diurnal swing in convection). And the pressure has remained pretty steady on the last few recon passes.
On the other hand, the Tail Doppler Radar (TDR) from @NOAA_HurrHunter shows the wind field becoming stronger and more symmetric, with winds over 100 knots around 500 meters above the surface. Visible satellite seems to show convection starting to re-fire, so we'll see if the pressure start falling again.
Overall, the storm seems to mostly be on track to follow the NHC forecast, and today is the time to finalize prep along the Northern Gulf Coast.

Caricacture in my mind.
"Jerry Beth you're live...."
"PAWL....I cant believe you think the GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME should be MOVED OR RESHEDULED!!!!!"
"Jerry Beth, I never said any such thing".
"Oh yeah you did PAWL, during that LSU/FLORIDA GAME!!!!".
"Well, ahem, cough, cough, Who's next caller"?
Honestly I can't remember what he said and I definately don't care. He makes money doing this.

someone along the coast is about to take one on the chin so chill out.
The fearmongering with this one is a bit extreme. LA to the Panhandle is on edge. I drove to our house in Miramar Beach yesterday afternoon to pick up some outdoor furniture and you would think a Cat 5 is coming. I get back to our home in LA this morning and find my neighbor picked up all his Halloween decorations and furniture. If we feel any affects from this storm here in LA, it will be minimal.

Idk if its been anymore different than other ones, news people will do what they do. Its annoying but whatever.
However, I wouod be worried more about tornados with this one more than anything. Especially if your area winds up in the trailing tail/feeder bands.

Pretty good agreement between Mobile and Pensacola for 12z models.
That’s still about 50 miles so the exact areas of the worst conditions are not clear yet.

And there goes an 84kt and 87kt 10s wind speed recordings in the SE eyewall, albeit over 3,000m in the sky.
That’s the highest flight level obs recorded this entire flight, with the 87kt exceeding any flight level recording from last recon mission.
ETA: After those 2, 3 more readings of 87, 86, and 84 were logged in SE eyewall at flight level. Highest winds found in storm yet. Just ahead of the 4pm forecast advisory. Convenient!

You guys are ruining a serious hurricane thread.
Isn't that one of the squares for hurricane bingo along with crawfish prices and a blue shed?

Plenty reasons your flight can cancel. This storm isn't one of them.

This is going to be a weird one for my family.
Live north of Diberville in Harrison county.
Early this week planned to be at my parents, but yesterday's shift in models made me wait until tonight to make the decision.
Cruising the coast is still going on this weekend around the coast minus outdoor concerts and a drag race.
Wlox/wxxv has a shite weather team for storms and they just keep showing their stupid in house NAM like model which has it being on the far left of the cone

81kt just found at surface in SE eyewall via dropsonde. That converts to 93mph. Will be enough to increase winds in next advisory. Only question is by how much.
