Not really, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on why all the law enforcement, emergency medical staff, etc are better off serving Tuscaloosa gameday needs vs many areas throughout Alabama under evacuation orders.

Provide said "overwhelming evidence."
You guys are ruining a serious hurricane thread.

Maybe for wherever you're posting from but someone along the coast is about to take one on the chin so chill out.
Most of us live on the gulf coast. We regularly get storms that blow like a motherfricker for a short time and then they’re gone. How is this storm gonna be any different?

Yeah. We are good with food. I have two refrigerators and two freezers that I need to rotate on the generator to make sure food doesn't ruin. My generator doesn't run the AC unit, so I just try to keep a couple of lamps and fans on and rotate the freezers and refrigerators.
I fill up all the bathtubs with water so we can flush toilets. On a well, so no water if the power is out. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to run the well pump with the generator.

The radar signature of this storm looks like crap. Is it getting sheared?

It’s pretty obvious to anyone paying attention. Why aren’t the weather folks reporting? Unless we’re not reading this right?

Don't know how they had it getting to a 2. It may still but if you look at the shear map it tells a different story.

I'm talking about the people who are filling up like 10+ cans of gas, and people buying up enough food and water for a nuclear winter.
One thing I learned from the Covid mess is that an alarming percentage of people apparently keep/stock no food of substance in their homes. I even saw people who had the means who panicked when "they" said you should have two weeks of food and supplies. You would have thought they told people the world was ending. I took note then of how long I could stave off starvation if I were truly stuck at home and I could last a pretty good long while just on our normal shopping. It would eventually get to where it might not be what I wanted to eat, but it would be edible and fill a hungry spot. Too many people just keep very little on hand, and it isn't for lack of means.

God, I hope so...

Often times with hurricanes it's the aftermath misery people don't want to deal with. People like comfort even in miserable situations.

To stay on track with the NHC’s forecasting, Isaias needs to increase its winds by 20 mph in the next 5 hours. That appears unlikely. None of the dropsondes are coming anywhere close to picking up winds of 90kt at surface level. shite, even the flight level wind readings aren’t even close to 90kt. Shear is getting this thing and suppressing what would otherwise be a favorable environment - late season storms love to bomb out in the Gulf gyre.

Looks like Isaias sucked in some dry air
Posted on 10/8/26 at 2:06 pm to LSU=Champions
Hopefully is topping out soon then some gradual weakening until landfall
Posted on 10/8/26 at 2:09 pm to rds dc
After looking somewhat impressive this morning, the system is starting to struggle as it looks like dry air has punched into the core. As of 18z, all the 12z hurricane models were too strong. Now we'll see if the system can bounce back as it approaches the loop current.

More clicks with fear mongering

Doesn’t fit with the climate change narrative they are forced to use as the prism of their reporting.
