She's finally moving off the coast and already looking better. It will be interesting to see her direction of motion over the next few hours. It looks a little more NW over the last few frames of the radar loops.

I'm done with this thread. I just wish we had a thread with only the real weather posters and locked to everyone else

You're not a real weather poster.

Earlier Cantore was talking and a little breeze picked up and he stopped to point out how the palm leaves we're moving in the trees.

They also played some time lapse footage to make it look like the clouds were moving fast and the trees were getting pummeled. I know it was time lapse because there was a guy in the bottom corner of the screen walking 40 mph.

I never said I was. And neither are you, which is what I'm really aiming toward.

60mph gusts in Miami is a little more than rain but I agree they can be dramatic

Yea, the wind field is pretty big. A buoy immediately off the eastern coast of Miami measured a 68 mph gust 150 feet above the surface. That may seem insignificant, but that buoy is 195 miles for the center of Irma.

You think it is that different as related to high winds still covering the entire state ... even putting some of it on the west side . Not any better based on my experience.

I'm not saying the hurricane is coming here. But it hasn't turned yet. That jog north it was supposed to take is even more western than before. It hasn't turned yet. It's a little worrisome. Not nearly enough to freak out or panic about it.

Slack you can see the core of Irma on that radar website of yours.

Eyeballing the frame she's wobbling offshore.

It sounds great, but it never really works. We did it for Harvey during all of the Jeff stuff, but it quickly fizzled out and the folks who needed information kept asking for it in the main thread. The weather thread got dropped in like a day.

I'm no where near Florida but for those on the west side of the state towards the south is it too late to leave? Traffic and gas .. issues or no?? God I hope everyone who needs to be out is out.

This is the key takeaway.

I understand people don't like the way it looks, but there is absolutely no reason to raise an eyebrow about Irma if you're in Louisiana.

Would you guys have to send in resumes?

Serious.

The info presented on Harvey from the guys you were arguing with was priceless for my many kinfolk and friends in Tejas.

If real guys were in one thread and Duke, Slack, etc. in another most would be watching the latter.

I say this based on down votes you and others are getting.

Based on the current track, what kind of conditions should middle and northern Alabama and Tennessee expect? Tropicalstorm force winds?

Essentially zero chance it gets outside of Florida.

I agree with this, it seems to be starting a shift NW in the last few jogs it has taken. I think it will turn almost due north before long. These forecasters, overall, are pretty sharp and I do think it will strafe the west side of the peninsula before coming fully inland.

They always send him to the hotspot of a cane landing and the hotels are booked and the storm changes and he is not in the hotspot so this crap then happens.
