In this specific case, not having the line would have helped a ton. No amateurs can predict the turn so they can't line up the hits after the turn. That line was up the east coast the other day and was starting a shite storm here on Thursday.
Even if it would've hit the Florida east coast it still wasn't turning N until today.

Can you give your predictions and supporting info instead of getting in a pissing match.
We can deal with more than one prediction I think.
Arguing is a distraction.

Slackster, Duke, etc. don't do that.

I've said from the get go I think this hits the western side of Florida based upon the jet stream not dropping as originally anticipated. The cold front that was predicted last week was a little overstated.

One word. Triangles.

The NHC projected the turn to occur today (from what others have posted). A Louisiana landfall would be a huge forecasting fail. That said, others here have posted that a Louisiana landfall will not occur
I get that. I've been following this thread for weeks and all its ups and downs. The same forecasters had it going right through the Florida goalposts a day ago. Now it's significantly more Western.
That's a very very sharp turn they are banking on. It's just a little worrisome is all for those of us in a city with approximately 1.5 working water pumps....we hope.
Also they had that turn going straight north for the longest time and some even had it going north and east a little. Now it's jogging north but with a western tilt.

No reason to get pissed and in the weeds with differing info and exact path of cone.
What moved west won't put the whole of Fla. much better off will it?

Tornado warnings are starting to pop off:

I understand. And its ridiculous that someone downvoted your post.

You think it is that different as related to high winds still covering the entire state ... even putting some of it on the west side .
Not any better based on my experience.

My point has always been to lay off people concerned about westward movement and using the "cone" to justify belittling their worry. These are REAL people with REAL lives. Some people in this thread need to respect that.

But that front isn't what turns her. It's a shortwave/upper low diving out of the planes that erodes the edge of the bremuda high a bit and gives an upper level push from the south to push her north.
