You should do yourself a favor and stop focusing on the line. They don't attach a cone to it for shits and giggles, they're trying to help you visualize the uncertainty while also keeping it as accurate as possible.
Here is the full gif - notice that Irma never ends up outside of the predicted cone yet again.

NHC just didn't show these fools what they wanted to see. Thus far, the models and nhc have pretty much shown their worth. The euro has barely changed in the last 5 days, extremely impressive.

I'm just salty because I busted arse today like a mofo. This storm was looking like the eye was coming right at me. I'm just blowing off steam. Glad I didn't evacuate though.
