No? Storm is still almost 4 days from hitting land that track could change easily. Euro is first one I've seen shifting it this far west in days though.

irma needs to slam her arse in the everglades and die as quickly as possible and stay on land.
Would the everglades really slow down a storm like this?
That's one problem with it hitting Florida, perfect environment for a 'brown ocean' effect. Hot and humid with plenty of water surface.

Look at my last few posts where I have shown the math on the W vs WNW

Now I have to start thinking about this thing in ATL? What can I expect if it takes that track?
My non-meteorologist guess would be a lot of rain and moderate winds.

I've got a friend 15 miles or so out of Orlando (can remember the name of the town off hand). Moved there 6ish months ago from Cali and they're not leaving. I'm like wth?? She said "we're good .. we've got water and food". Ok then. Guess we shall see how they fare.
They are 100% fine in Orlando.

Here is the latest UKMET plotted. Also showing a westward shift.

Good grief I would hit that with the fury of a thousand Irmas.

NIMBY
This was far from residential neighborhoods and they would never let them build this in everglades.

Orlando doesn't get storn surges, they may have flooding, but they should be mostly ok. A lot of wind damage.

It's day 3-4 after the storm where you're still walking in the kitchen and bathroom and the hand reflex still goes to the light switch...tell yourself, you dummy, the power has been off since Sunday and you are still going for the switch.

And the Euro is considered the gold standard.

Good to announce this now and get resources in order, but there is a decent chance SC could avoid any direct landfall.

Whatever you do, don't listen to this guy. The NHC has Orlando 50 miles from there in its latest forecast.
