If that storm went up panhandle instead and took a similar track into Georgia Atlanta would be in trouble.

Is it still pretty much a consensus that the eyewall will pass to the EAST of Tampa? And any thoughts regarding how Tampa will fare? Very close friend there, and he's prepared to evacuate, but as of last night, we were feeling fairly confident.
If they eye passes to the West, my understanding is that will be disaster for Tampa, as it will push the water in from the bay. As opposed to passing on the east, where it would pull it out. Is any of that correct?

A. This really helps out the major population centers of Miami and Fort Lauderdale in some ways, but the storm surge on the east side is going to be much bigger now.
Naples, Fort Meyers area gonna get smashed. Makes my company deciding to call off our meeting there on Monday a wise decision. Perfectly centers between Tampa and Orlando, so they should both get damage but it could be worse for one or the other.

Festus the models keep going west than east.
If you are in Tampa, you still have time to leave.

What are the CST times of the model updates?

Now I have to start thinking about this thing in ATL? What can I expect that far inland if it takes that track?

No? Storm is still almost 4 days from hitting land that track could change easily. Euro is first one I've seen shifting it this far west in days though.

Thanks 50. He probably has left, I need to call there now. He had hotel reservations and everything packed last night.

I've got a friend 15 miles or so out of Orlando (can remember the name of the town off hand). Moved there 6ish months ago from Cali and they're not leaving. I'm like wth?? She said "we're good .. we've got water and food". Ok then. Guess we shall see how they fare.
