but it appears no one has had contact with Barbuda since last night.
I wonder if storm surge covered the entire island. Scary.

It's not THAT low. Heard several times that it was completely evacuated.

It's at 120 now, it has Miami taking a dead center bullseye hit.
We are gonna find out about those Miami Dade building product ratings. I work in the storm protection industry and the code is so redonculous in Miami, they are more equipped than any other city in the world to take this thing. Although, no one is really equipped. I'm talking their requirements are so ridiculous the walls of houses will be flying away before the storm protection does.

Keys and Miami fricked. This would level Miami

The storm is still several days away. Let those who want to leave early, leave early, so evacuation is staggered. You can't just say "OK now everyone leave" nearly a week out from actual potential impact. That would cause fricking chaos.

If it didn't "level" those tiny islands. It's not gonna "level" Miami either.

does it look like it bounces back to open water before it hits GA on this run?

wtf 96z is 4 days from now baw

Miami needs to wait for the keys and others south to evacuate first. There's a reason they do this in stages. The keys residents are evacuating starting tonight, visitors started this morning.
