There's always been that chance. This seems to be a "CYA" move by them.

I saw tornadoes in my yard during Gustav something Katrina never did. Talking about some scary shite. When the storm passed my neighborhood looked like we had a bombing run on us from Air Force.

Based on the water vaport map - NOAA Source - I think it is going to weaken over the next 24-36 hours. No idea what it does from there.

Far from a hurricane expert, but have noticed that water vapor around the hurricane gives clues as to what will happen as far as strengthen/weaken. Right now it shows lots of dry air just to the south, which is where these types of systems often draw from.

That's what Ivan did to the east of the eyewall. The weatherman earned his pay that day, it was one tornado after another. It's what's scared me the most about hurricanes ever since.

That's a bad bet. That upper low is getting it's self fully cut off and the southern shear is dropping. You can see the outflow expand south this morning. The outflow channels are obvious.

It's been fighting the dry air since it got started. See how moist it is south of Cuba? As Dorian moves farther west, he's going to have plenty of moisture and the upper low isnt going to be pumping as much of the dry stuff at Dorian.

He's very likely to pop off this afternoon and into the overnight, as projected by the NHC.

Everytime someone starts with “I’m no expert” or something like that the following sentences always validate that statement.

Absolutely!! The only thing that would make this weekend better is, if instead of a Cat 4 hurricane, we could have a global nuclear war and billions of people die instead of just a few dozen.

Ah, good times ahead!!!

Yes, and my sinuses say the pressure is dropping. The authorities here say dropping pressure means intensification.

I mean a war on TV would be solid too so long as it wasn’t serious enough to break into the football coverage
