Sitting here on one of the last flights out this morning in Charleston. It's reminesant of that scene in Titanic where the rich people with dogs are the only ones allowed on the life boats.

For the area that's been sitting under this eyewall for the last 24 hours, does the storm surge dissipate dropping the level of flood waters? Does the surge drop to none in general for the storm?

A couple of waves over Africa to watch
Euro EPS showing 3 potential systems at D10, 91L heading out into the Atlantic and then two lower running waves after it.
GEFS shows an active Atlantic all the way to the end of the run.
Looks like we will get an extended summer type pattern across the Southern US with a dominant ridge and above normal temps. There is an above climo chance that we see another system threaten the US.
