would just love to know what is actually possible in terms of wind speeds over 200mph.

I have a leaf blower that hits 165 mph. Thinking about tweaking the motor to see what it will do...

Weather.com story shows 215 was the max sustained.

Story does say the advisories never showed highrler than 200.

Either way, 200 or 215 is ridiculous. How many structures are built to sustain that?

We just read early someone comparing this storm to an EF-4 tornado in terms of intensity.

Looking at the latest satellite loops, way out ahead of the storm over Florida do you notice winds aloft are still carrying clouds in that east to west direction, indicating that high pressure flow. So seeing that what’s your take on that? To me the steering currents still have it on path to the mainland, unless last minute trough comes in and takes it straight up north turn. The window is closing rapidly but the only thing that’s a good sign for Florida is he is moving rather slow. Maybe giving just enough time for the trough to come in and turn him. What you think?

Theoretically, 200+ mph Sub 900 is possible given the SST in this area.

Didn't one in the Pacific hit 215 mph sustained a few years ago?

I like to talk about just Atlantic storms b/c the Pacific storms seem to be so different than Atlantic storms... same type storm... just much different dynamics in play

also... we never hear about southern Atlantic hurricanes/typhoons... I'm sure they happen, right?

Green Turtle Cay - Ground Zero - along with several other of the outer islands of the Abacos.

I don't see how much of it will survive but I hope so for them.

Not shite I want to see you posting about.

Also not surprised you're talking about it after what I saw last night.

If there were at one time, the remnants are probably doing circles around the area at abt 200 mph.

Patricia was upgraded from 200mph to 215mph sustained after post-tropical analysts was done.

Agree. Until it is heading faster towards the North of FL I will not be totally comfortable on the west coast. If I were on east coast of FL, I would have already moved inland or to the west.
