Here are the latest steering wind currents. Dipping sw on the western side of Dorian.
Not sure if the hurricane is causing this or the westerly winds are just doing that.

Glad that this SOB is staying offshore but Florida is about to get a lot of rain. I hope Miami has taken better care of its drainage pump than what NOLA has.

Who has a good link?

The last functioning ones I'd seen stopped working at around 8:50am local time. They may still be recording - but don't have the ability to broadcast (bandwidth issues).

They have a reporter in Marsh Harbor they keep going to. She's supposed to be moving into a concrete building right now.

When you leave NOLA you realize 1) most places don’t flood like it does there. 2) EVERYBODY takes better care of it’s drainage pump than New Orleans does.

That shite just got real as frick. People are going to killed while we're typing these comments. Imagine being there, right now, knowing your demise is almost a certainty in the next hour or so if you don't have an elevated place to go within minutes.

Most people in FL don’t evacuate the barrier islands. We usually don’t either.

I live on Amelia Island and most here are planning to stay. I’ll head to South GA if we get a mandatory evacuation order or if the track changes west. It should weaken by the time it gets up here.

Most recent dropsonde in #Dorian's eye has a "V" signature that indicates sinking air almost all the way to the ocean surface. This is an extreme signature, and very rare.

The pressure when adjusted for surface wind is about 913mb.

Disney’s Castaway Cay (their private island their cruise ships go to) may be wiped from the map.

1) chairs against a door I wouldn't think have a chance of helping
2) where are these reports who are out in the winds going to go??

God this is awful.
