Figured as much. Didn't know if that one was still open though.

Swing by and get a Whataburger for me one night when you head home.

My son loves that place. He's obsessed with it.

Already told the wife we're heading to south Huntsville for that reason alone when we're in town to visit my family next month, even though my mom and grandmother live in Meridianville and Hazel Green so we usually stay at the Hampton Inn across from Bridge Street.

We don't eat out much, but he'll con my wife into getting it occasionally when she is up there with him.

We spend more time in Guntersville, my wife works there.

It still blows my mind that Decatur got a Whataburger at least a year before Huntsville.

What makes Birmingham better than Huntsville in terms of entertainment

I can really only speak to the music scene, and that is infinitely better in Birmingham. The new amphitheater in Huntsvillle will improve things there, but Birmjngham still has multiple music venues bringing in good talent - Saturn, Avondale Brewing, Iron City, Alabama Theater, and Lyric Theater. I know Huntsville has Mars Music Hall and Von Braun, but Huntsville just seems to get skipped over for a lot of traveling bands.

I haven’t been to a Trash Pandas game so don’t know how it compares, but having a great brewery right across the street from Regions Field is hard to beat. Going to Barons games makes for a great summer night.

None of that is really trashing on Huntsville. I haven’t spent significant time in Huntsville in years so I’m not really qualified to speak on it.

Huntsville to me is still a city for families, college kids and retirees.
Entertainment, shopping, music scene and food is still lacking.

At 9-10 pm on a Saturday the city is quite dead. It's an old folks town

I’m moving there this summer. I don’t know how we’re going to afford a house that isn’t a piece of shite cookie cutter with a big arse garage in the front.

So do you hit up JJ's? It's been far too long since I last ate at JJ's.

I moved away from the Huntsville area years ago and settled in Tennessee as it has no state income tax. Huntsville wasn't bad but I prefer a much more rural setting.

Having grown up in Huntsville, saying you left Huntsville for a more rural setting is just bizarre. I mean don't get me wrong I get it, but the Huntsville I grew up in and the Huntsville today bears little resemblance to each other.

Yeah they don’t have big garages on trailers. Just car ports.

Have been to HSV enough to know what it's about. Have never heard anyone from there speak one syllable negative about it.

That said, Katy, TX is a better by probably any metric out there.

And we have lots of H-E-Bs.
