It's very very boring. If you like that tho then. Good for you.

Huntsville is nice, but same list has San Fran at #10. You know, the city by the bay where walking down the street you dodge AIDS infested heroin needles, piles of homeless fecal matter, decriminalized looting, and people leaving their trunks open to deter carjacking.

That’s #10 on this list. But good for Huntsville.

Makes sense. Reasonably affordable, good stable population.

I recently moved to Huntsville (Athens actually) coming up on 2 years ago this June. So far, it’s been a great city. However, the infrastructure, mainly the roadways are not capable of all the vehicles traveling.

Correct. There's absolutely nothing to do in Huntsville or the surrounding Appalachian foothills or Lake Guntersville.

Baton Rouge is the highest ranked city in LA and is above Atlanta and San Diego

I suspect affordability impacts those some but you might die where the houses are cheap

Nah, it's true. Huntsville has a larger population percentage that live within the city limits than Birmingham does. Most in Birmingham live in large suburbs surrounding the core city.

Now why there's that difference I'll let you figure out.

Huntsville - 57% White, 32% Black, 6% Hispanic, 3% Asian, 3% mixed/other

Birmingham - 25% White, 68% Black, 4% Hispanic, 1% Asian, 3% Mixed/Other

This is so weird to me.

Birmingham's city limits are relatively small. There's dozens of suburbs that makes it metro population over 1 million.

How's Baton Rouge these days?

I'd choose Baton Rouge over Tuscaloosa 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.

But yeah...Huntsville is admittedly nice.

Seriously, what does Alabama have to offer except for two decent college football teams and Gulf Shores. Even Oklahoma has professional basketball team.

4 seasons, decent schools, good job market, reasonable COL.

80% of the US doesn't give a shite about the NBA

Not Huntsville but we moved to Tuscaloosa and it is otherworldly different than the NOLA metro. Northern and Western Alabama in general is really nice. Best decision we've ever made.

OKC is an under-rated town IMO.

But tornado season can get dicey.
