Was coming to say this right here
2 coworkers 36 and 39 dropped dead months apart. Both were heavy energy drinkers.

Love how they lump cannabis in there with cocaine as if cannabis is the one drug that vastly affects your heart in a negative way.

I wonder if the use of ADD and ADHD meds like adderall attribute to this? I would guess cocaine use would increase heart attacks for 20's and 30's.

i can guarantee i will not have a heart attack before i reach 40 yrs old.
I am hoping the same here.
I am 38. I have 2 years left before I turn 40, but I am a fat arse so no guarantees I will make it.
No diabetes, high cholesterol levels, or high blood pressure yet to be diagnosed.

I can tell you that in the last 2 years, doctors in Baton Rouge have started cutting off/cutting back stimulant-based ADD drugs to people with uncontrolled hypertension.
It's spread to even the quacks out of fear of reprimand/litigation.
A well-known pill-shop in BR would give anyone a script of vyvanse/ativan/xanax/adderall. Now she checks your BP EVERY visit now and will not write vyvanse/adderall scripts unless you have proof of medications AND improvement.
More reputable docs have been doing this for several years now.

Synthetic marijuana has been an issue I've seen quite a bit causing younger folks to have heart issues
I agree. Fools smoking mojo. And vaping.
I'm not joking about that, but stimulants in general are a large part of everyday life. Caffeine in large amounts (guilty), nicotine, energy drinks, meds to help you "focus", synthetics, and who knows what all. The demographic they specify, from my perspective, is overloaded with stimulants. Stimulants are hard on a heart.

Never seen an issue with regular ole dope.
There are some concerns, particularly related to actually smoking the plant materials vs vaping or other methods of ingesting it. Here is a pretty even handed article with some good info.

Hearing similar increases with cases of colon cancer in people under 40. Used to be there was no need to get scoped until after 50 unless family history pointed to an issue. Now there are some folks pushing for insurance to cover the procedure as part of regular preventative care for people as young as 40.
It’s gotta be the garbage we eat so regularly or at least heavily influenced by the poor diets of most folks.

We are in the middle of an obesity crisis in our country. It stands to reason that people's hearts are going to fail.
Longer work hours and longer commutes contribute greatly to this problem.
