Alabama wins. Again

Alabama's hubris is going to get them wiped the frick out. If they have the arrogance of Texans but no justification for it and no way to back it up

Not to mention all the mining activity that goes on in Alabama is going to make them a really really hot Target

Barksdale AFB is in Shreveport

Yeah I thought about that. There's also Belle Chasse. Some people have stated in this hypothetical that no federal help is allowed but I disagree because I think the first thing that would happen is the states would commandeer any federal equipment and supplies that's within their state borders and the federal government would be helpless to do anything about it

Louisiana is bordered by Texas, Arkansas, and Miss.

We could take Arky & Miss.
Texas would swallow us up. 25 million vs 5 million.

Tx vs La would be interesting as both states have nuclear weapon stockpiles. Both sides of the Sabine would be so armed.

Louisiana would have to take a defensive posture. Draw invading forces into the swamps where the locals would have the advantage due to familiarity. Use guerrilla tactics and hopefully outlast the Texans until they give up. Going toe to toe with Texas would be suicide since they vastly outnumber us.

Texas would probably suffer heavy casualties in Baton Rouge and New Orleans as well with the street gangs and other gun owning citizens.

I would say Texas would do alright but all those pussies north of I-10 would ruin it. Same could be said for Louisiana.

Access to the Mississippi River, Another port to have under their control, natural resources. If you're going to ask reasons for ridiculous scenario such as a war between two states then that's what I would think.

Oh really? What warships are homeport in Texas? Thought we weren't using federal assistance.

Like the one that crippled Houston more recently? Both states are susceptible to hurricanes like the rest of the Gulf Coast.

Like I said, going straight up against Texas is a no win situation for us. Only California and Florida could really stand a chance against them in terms of population, resources, and infrastructure.

I think alot of yall are selling Arkansas short. What is your plan to deal with their mountains?

Picturing a bunch of coonasses trying to climb mountain passes. In the snow.

My state borders Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama, and each of those states have a larger population than Mississippi.

We'd get creamed.

Arizona resident.

California has too many people/money. They'd attrition us hard.

We could take Utah, population is just too nice up there and we have 2x the people. We have over 3x the people of New Mexico, so we take that state too. I think we dominate Nevada. Nevada has half our people and the Vegas transplants may not be down to go all the way.

Arizona has a decent combo of city violence and rural areas that love them some guns. We convince everyone they're on the same team and we're fine.

here's the million dollar question

if you get in a fight with a SW state (esp. Texas)... do you make friends and try to form an alliance with Mexico?

100%. If I'm running Arizona's quest for domination of the Southwest, I'm cutting a deal with Mexico asap.

130 million people, port access, beating the other states to it...it all makes sense. I'm pitching them on reclaiming what the Mexican Cession lost them.

I think Arizona/Mexico could take California and would roll the remaining states after that.

Edit: Plus, CA has a ton of people with Mexican heritage. Flip them and Cali falls in a week.

No one said you had to crush all resistance in all locations of the states, at least not in large-scale conventional warfare.

For Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana my strategy would be quite simple: smash the large, organized forces in the wide-open and valuable land/cities, establishing order and control shortly thereafter.

When stragglers inevitably flee to the swamps, hills, and mountains I do not pursue with my army, I instead disperse and offer free land/tax breaks/resistance fighter bounties to anyone willing to settle/work in those areas. The flood of pioneers will then do the work for me.

You have to play the long game when it comes to tough nuts like that. It worked against the Indians and it would work here, as well.

Mississippi would lose to Alabama and Tennessee due to population differences alone and lack of a major manufacturing city in which to manufacture arms.

MS and Arkansas would be close.

We would lose to Louisiana due to their ability to control access to the river and their amount of natural resources.

Would be hilarious if all of North Louisiana and Lake Charles just turned on the remaining portion of the state and just annihilated them.
