Easy plan for me. Cash out and buy a sail boat or preferably borrow one from a friend I can live on, go to the swamp or up a creek somewhere where some people have camps in obscure places that no one but those have camps go to. Bring a bunch of rice, and some other staples of food that would last awhile.
Let everything calm down for a couple of months. Go from there.

I would buy an inholding in a national park or a Native American Reservation (there's 400 acres with a river running through it in the Blackfeet Reservation in Northern Montana) with a self-sufficient cabin.

I would hide in plain sight - to an extent. I wouldn't leave the U.S., but would move to a large metro area that has a significant tourist presence and is unlikely to have media coverage of the crime. I'd shave my beard, grow my hair long, and change my eyeglass style. A fake ID and SS number would be necessary. The hardest part would be the lack of contact with loved ones.
