That's it. No salutation. No "All the best." Nothing but those two sentences.

That's a good point that our trade school advocates on here always forget. One physical injury that would be a minor inconvenience for a white collar worker can be a career ender for a blue collar baw.

The last thing I think when viewing the pathetic offerings on job websites is, "Yep. We definitely need more idiots with college degrees."

Help him.

I taught business law and labor and employment law classes. I felt that it was my job to make sure the students understood the material.

If a student attended classes and still did not understand the material, I would work with the student. I took it as a personal failure on my part if the student did not come around.

I'm far from the grammar police but I can't talk to someone who uses double negatives, it's grating as hell. I'm wondering how this college student is going to or has already passed ENG 1101 and 1102

assignment was given at the beginning of the month and has been discussed and scaffolded extensively over the past few weeks. He missed a few classes

Just tell him detailed instructions were given during class.

I'm assuming it's in reference to the essay that is due tonight by midnight.

Tell them the following

Step 1: Build a time machine
Step 2: Go back 'x' weeks and ask this question when there is actually enough time to do something about it

With that quality of grammar from a "college student"..... I say nice subtle brag about being an instructor at a community college. That's probably a 9/10 on subtle brag and I bet most didn't catch it.

I'm an adjunct, man. It's more "concealed embarrassment" than "subtle brag."

Well, the 9/10 rating was for the subtleness of it, not so much for anything else.

Tell that football player to have his bagman get in touch with you and you'll work it all out with him.

you shouldn’t respond to that. If he’s that fricking stupid, he needs to be digging ditches.
