How would the OT respond to this email from a college student? UPDATE: pg. 6
Posted by StringedInstruments on 3/21/18 at 11:57 am813
Just got an email from a student. I'm going to copy and paste it here:
"I dont understand none of this stuff teach. What am I supposed to be doing for the due."
That's it. No salutation. No "All the best." Nothing but those two sentences.
I'm assuming it's in reference to the essay that is due tonight by midnight.

If a few hours, respond
"What is it exactly that you don't understand?"
Couple hours later, another short response to string it along until midnight.
Then tell him its still due at midnight.

"E-mail" would actually be the more archaic spelling as it's only been recently that mainstream style guides have been accepting of "email."

You must teach advanced English.
Seriously though, help the kid out the best you can. He's actually looking for help and your job is to give it. You could change his life for the positive by being that one teacher that gave a shite.

Let me send my condolences in advance for the F are are surely to receive. You might want to look into vocational school, or just go ahead and find gainful employment in the construction, industrial or any "Baw" type field you can land a job in.
Best wishes,

Don't worry. I will. I'm a total pushover. But my Rate My Professor ratings are stellar.

I would respond with:
“be sure to heat the oil before you put the fries in and you will be ok in life. Not everyone can graduate and become a barista”
