Do you need to have a 4.0 in Biology and related majors?
How good does your CV have to be? Volunteer organizations?
I'm guessing you have to be perfect on paper.

You’re GPA and MCAT can be a bit lower but it’s still competitive and very expensive. When you come back to the states you still have to pass the same boards as students in US medical schools to match.
There is a bit of a stigma associated with it but some great doctors have come from Caribbean medical schools.

It sounds as if you are talking about getting into medical school vs becoming an MD which are two different things and no you don't have to be "perfect" on paper to get into med school. If you are looking at getting in a T10 med school you are going to have to be a lot closer to "perfect" than the University of Puerto Rico.

I've heard North Korea may be looking for some new doctors. Go over there and apply, I'm sure you'll make it.

Getting into med school is the start of a long grind. Long hours, lots of reading and practice. Then residency is another grind of a different grind for years of 5+ depending on type.

excuse the cliche, but getting into med school is the tip of the iceberg.
I was (and still am) amazed at the amount of material that is covered in med school. literal bookshelves full of notes.

Get a bachelor’s degree in absolutely anything, get A’s in your pre-reqs and just a decent MCAT score will open the door. Show admission committees you have made a mature decision to go into medicine by either scribing in an ED or working in the healthcare field in anyway and you’re in.
Caribbean is meant for those lacking in any of the above. There are a few other ways to get in but the above is true for like 90% of applicants.

If you're that close, consider going to PA school instead. Less course work, less debt, quicker path to actually working.

This is a topic I know nothing about. But it seems to me there is a push for new medical schools in the form of Osteopathic schools here and there and here in E Texas a new medical school will be built here in Tyler. There must be a supply/demand problem (low supply and high demand). Study hard and go for it!
I wonder if you medical types could actually be trained in a shorter time frame? It seems the tradition of college/medical school/residency/super residency is just traditionally too long. It should be shortened. Fricke tradition and be innovative medical trainers!
