Light a match…..sewer gas is methane…..

……but do not light a match if it is a high concentration of gas as you might blow yourself up…..

For that dry p trap issue. I had one that couldn't get resolved in a hall bathroom. So it would often smell. Got something called the Waterworks SinkGenie from Home Depot online. Problem solved.

Put the box fans blowing IN, not out. This is how the fire department removes smoke from buildings.

Someone help me out here, since when do septic tanks need an aerator for their anaerobic bacteria?

Are any of you old enough to remember the box of kitchen matches placed in each bathroom to light and mask out any unpleasant smells. As a kid, I remember the matches, but I don't remember any glade.

You probably need something like this (ClO2 water activated) that activates with water..Car RV resale people use this type of product to deodorize really funky smelling autos and RVs. They swear by it. They do make kits for whole house also, smokers houses, etc.
amazon LINK
You can Google deodorize smokers auto and find similar and video of how it works.
Good luck!

Otoh, if you can place box fan in windows blowing out with other windows open pulling fresh air in, could be a cheap start. Sauces/plates of vinegar can help.

I do not know if the pipe started leaking again or if my nose just got unused to it, but the smell woke me up at 4:30 this morning. Going to Home Depot to get an ozone machine. Any recommendations of brand of machine?

It's time to sell the house. Unfortunately your market is limited to people who can't smell.
