How many times did we land on the moon? 1 or 6?

Me and a buddy are having a debate. He is claiming mendella effect.

6 if you go with the public record. Although there were many manned missions prior to 1969 but they were done by the military.

Apollo 7 tested the CSM in low Earth orbit (LEO).
Apollo 8 orbited the Moon, but had no lander.
Apollo 9 tested the lander in LEO.
Apollo 10 tested the lander in lunar orbit.
Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin (x1)
Apollo 12 landed on the Moon, Pete Conrad and Al Bean (x2)
Apollo 13 intended to land James Lovell and Fred Haise on the Moon, but an onboard accident caused the lunar landing to be aborted.
Apollo 14 landed on the Moon, Alan Shepherd and Edgar Mitchell (x3)
Apollo 15 landed on the Moon, David Scott and James Irwin (x4)
Apollo 16 landed on the Moon, John Young and Charles Duke (x5)
Apollo 17 landed on the Moon, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt (x6)
6 landings, 12 Moon walkers. Although Jim Lovell and Gene Cernan made 2 trips to the Moon each, no astronaut ever walked twice (Cernan was on Apollo 10 which did not land, and Lovell's landing was aborted).

Landed on the lunar surface: Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17.
Moonwalkers:
Apollo 11: Neil Armstrong/Buzz Aldrin
Apollo 12: Pete Conrad/Alan Bean
Apollo 14: Alan Sherpard/Edgar Mitchell
Apollo 15: David Scott/Jim Irwin
Apollo 16: John Young/Charlie Duke
Apollo 17: Eugene Cernan/Harrision Schmitt
Others who have orbited or slingshot around the Moon but did not land:
Frank Borman, Bill Anders, Jim Lovell, Tom Stafford, Michael Collins, Richard Gordon, Fred Haise, Jack Swigert, Stu Roosa, Ken Mattingly, and Ronald Evans.
Orbited or slingshot around the Moon: Apollo 8, 10, and 13.
Apollo 10 was a dress rehearsal for the landing; the lunar module approached to within 50,000 feet of the surface but did not land. The lunar module used for that mission was heavier than the ones used on later missions, and would not have been able to lift off from the lunar surface had it landed.
Apollo 13 was supposed to land but the explosion forced them to abort that. However, the crew does have one distinction: They have traveled further out into space than any other humans to date (248,655 miles from Earth)

This mendella effect is so stupid, in almost all cases. Each one of them is easily attributed to "false" memories (a well documented phenomenon) or other simple explanations.
The "Moon Landing" may be one of the dumbest. Yes, some people say the phrase "the Moon Landing" in conversation, likely referring to Apollo 11, as a singular event. But the magnitude of the event is the reason for this. Perhaps the greatest achievement of mankind, so it gets (technically, incorrectly) referred to singularly as "the Moon Landing" instead of the "First Moon Landing".
This shite is as dumb as criticizing the "D-Day Landing" as incorrect because there were numerous invasions that day and the next, so it should be "D-Day LandingS"

and another thing, the Mandella Effect is really lame, the "best evidence" those dumbasses have is the Ed McMahon thing (there's proof he and Dick Clark worked for a competitor of PCH) and that "We Are The Champions" is the last line of the song (and not "of the World)"
OP, your friend and his Mandella Effect believing ilk are dipshits.

You solved it man, thank god for you! The key to the red-pill is the E becoming and A in that kid's book about the bear family. Whew!

How many cosmonauts do you think we’re sent up in space with zero chance of coming back down?
You know them crazy Russians sent a few poor Penal battalion Ivans up on a one way trip.
