How many people you think are on anxiety or ADD meds?

Coworkers I work with the most just all started talking about how they’re on stuff yesterday.
My boss is 46 said he has anxiety meds and stuff to get to sleep but still suffers from insomnia.
The purchaser is 50 and said he just got his changed. This guy freaks out about everything but does a great job.
Warranty guy is 40 says he’s been on ADD stuff since he was 12. Said his 2 sons are on stuff as well.
The logistics manager is 35 and said she’s on anxiety meds too.
The purchaser and warranty guy both said they give melatonin gummies to their 8 and 5 year olds to get them to sleep like it’s normal.
My parents were hesitant to give me an advil growing up so I find all of this odd.

Drugs are the answer! well just believe them, they were right about everything else right. Pharma is the ultimate subscription business. low cost of goods, high recurring price.

It is odd, your parents were right.
Most in the medical field have come to the conclusion that long-term use of anxiety meds are ineffective, especially as a sleep aid.

I was on anxiety meds for a while. Eating right, exercising, and getting sleep was the answer.

I think A WHOLE LOT of young mothers are on it. The doctors prescribed them zoloft like it's SOP after a baby. Had

If you’re having trouble sleeping, get off the medication and try medical cannabis that is for sleeping. It’s amazing what all is out there and it works like a charm.

It's a crutch for fat, pathetic, unmanly betas. We live in a society where everything anyone could ever want is right at our fingertips and people still bitch. They need chemicals to help them cope. Men from the 1940s would call them an embarrassment.

I'd guess almost half of younger to middle aged adults.
Maybe overestimating but it seems that way.

I went through some work stuff, family stuff and my mother died two years ago (it was long and drawn out).
My Dr could see I was stressing and put me on Welbutrin, I actually like it and think I had some undiagnosed condition it fixed.

That’s the thing none of the guys are fat. They aren’t close to ripped but 3 average dudes. The girl is a little chubby.

Most of the kids I work with are on them

Technically, I'm on anti-depressants and will be from here on out, but it's a low dose for chronic migraines. 25 mg for me compared to 150 mg for actual anti-depression doses. I'd have killed myself without the medication. Not even joking. 20+ migraines a month will make life not worth living.

You're still on it 2 years later?

A crap load of people medicate everyday
I, for one, have a psych doc that prescribes me meds at the VA and a social worker that i see for counseling once a week.
I’m walking around her like a mutha freaking looney tune listening to the voices in my head and talking to my friends that only i can see.
So when i say im gonna burn this mutha fricker down, there may not be a big chance of it happening, but there is absolutely a chance it can happen.

I definitely have undiagnosed ADHD and have all my life. I was never medicated. I use it to my advantage at work in a position where I have to constantly multi task and have dozens of balls in the air. I just need organized type b people who know how to listen and retain information and knockout tasks to support me.

We are the most heavily medicated society in history.
We are also the dumbest.
That's why everyone was so freely willing to strap on chin diapers, stay away from grandma, walk 6 feet away from everyone, and inject a bullshite vaccine into their system followed by boosters. The doctors told us "here, do all this dumb shite because we are experts. We definitely aren't making a fortune off of it" and everyone obliged.
PSA: don't forget your annual flu shots, kids!

It's interesting that some of the people that criticize daily weed smokers like myself are usually the same ones that probably have several psych med prescriptions.
I used to have to take Ambien to sleep, now I'm totally pill free.

I’ve never taken either, but am always amazed how weak the majority of Americans are everytime a conversation come up about drug use.

I’m kind of in the same boat. I used to have a high stress job and in my early 30’s got put on them. I’m now in a lower stress job, and I think I’ve just got to where I don’t care as much as I’ve got older. I’ve slowly backed up to the lowest dose there is and have been there the last few years. I’ve tried getting off completely, but get serious brain fog and nausea so have stayed on the lowest dosage.

That's the key! Ex-wife made fun of me because I asked for her requests to be written, or put on the shared shopping list, not yelled at me while I was walking out the door, etc. Do you want your shite or not? Writing stuff down (putting dentist appointments on the calendar before I walk out the door, using Trello, etc.) help a great deal. She made great fun of my "systems" and called me weak for needing them. The same way my ex-MIL refused to give my ex FIL the blood pressure meds he was given at 60+, because that was soft, she could fix it by adding blueberries to his diet or some shite.
Now I'm so f@*%ing bored because things move soooo slowly it drives me nuts. So I set my alarm for 0415 and hit the gym, so I can feel like I've had a productive day, even when the eight hours I waste at work will consist of sending one email and attending one phone call.
Anxious women are a pox upon our society, and the medication amongst the surburban moms, teachers, etc., clearly isn't helping long term. I didn't realize so many guys (at least in OPs job) were on them too.
