Previously to moving into my house, a guy named Tex lived and died there. He died of old age, but it was his house. My wife and I never told my kids about it and I only knew about him from stories.
One day, my son who was only 5 at the time, came up to me and started asking questions about Tex and asking me why Tex did certain things. I asked where he heard all these things from. He said that I told him.
I went to ask some of Tex's family and friends about the stories. They were pretty shocked that a 5 year old knew about those stories.

While as a Sheriff's Deputy in St. Landry Parish I worked an over night detail at Chretien Point Plantation. My job was to park at the gate and watch the property for a large event the next day. The next day, at 0600, I left and started home but my unit started making strange noises and was running strangely so l pulled over. When I got out and checked out my car, the lug nuts on all 4 tires had been loosened to the point that they were almost off. I'm not from the area so I had no idea about the history of the place until I told my Sgt. Definitely freaking me out.

yes... had a few experiences, but the strongest was in what was a medieval torture chamber in Morocco. Prisoners were chained to the wall and fed just enough to survive the rest of their miserable life in that position. We took a few pictures in an area that was pitch black, and one contained a clear outline of a person chained to the wall... not kinda close...not maybe but it's hazy... there was no doubt we were looking at a person chained to a damn wall in a picture that clearly was not there when we took it.

My parents' home in New Orleans is very old and was the site of a few deaths of occupants in the home. Nothing nefarious or sinister, but just old people dying and what not.
My sister and I would always see and hear things we couldn't explain. Dark shadows crossing dark hallways, sounds and weird noises, etc. Again, nothing scary or sinister.
One night, and I'll remember this forever, I was sleeping and woke up to what I thought was my mom sitting on the edge of my bed, watching me sleep. Mom had a tendency of saying goodnight to us on her way to bed, which at the time was after our's since we were young.
I woke up, and said something like, "Mom, what are you doing?" And the woman responded with a gentle shush and told me to go back to sleep. I did, feeling no fear.
I woke up the next day and asked my mom why she was in my room so late and she replied she never went into my room.
Could I have been half in/half out of a dream state? Possibly, but the memory is still very real in my head to this day.

We were at the Myrtles Plantation sitting in rocking chairs outside one of the cabins and my friend had her hair pulled through the slots of the back of the rocking chair. Enough to make her head hit the chair. It was pretty crazy.
How could they not exist if there are SO many stories and pictures/EVP's out there? I can understand being a skeptic because you haven't experienced it yourself but to act like millions and millions of stories and history were just made up? Come on now

Have had real experiences mainly with family members. Had one bad experience at the family restaurant.

I'm not shitting you when I say every time I watch that show Ghost Adventures I wake up with scratches on my shoulder or back. My wife says its time to quit watching it.

I have a ghost living with me whom I named Franklin. Homie randomly turns on the tv, flickers lights, and creeps through the AC making all sorts of racket. One day driving to a movie I look down to check the time and it read 11:20. I did a double take from that to my phone and it was really 12:20. I looked up at the truck clock and all of sudden it changed to 12:20. Blew my mind and almost caused a wreck.

You don't have to believe me, but it happened, and I had just arrived at the party and hadn't even had the first sip of anything to drink.
The EVP I have is from a ghost that says his name is David. We were on a ghost tour at Gettysburg and the guide told us of the charge of the Louisiana regiment in a certain area. Being from Louisiana, I went off by myself. I started the recorder on my phone and started asking questions. He clearly says his name is David, but I couldn't make out the town. He says Louisiana clear as day, and says he wants to go home. After that, silence.
The first house my wife and I lived in after we got married was on the side of a hill. It was built in the '50s and had a slight lean with the hill. That meant all the doors in the house would naturally stay in the position relative to the hill - either open or closed.
Our bedroom door always stayed closed, plus she had a cat that I refused to allow in the bedroom. At night, I ALWAYS made sure the door was closed completely. One night, we both heard the door knob turn and the door opened. We both sat straight up and I jumped out of bed to see who was there. No one was there. I found the cat sound asleep in the screened in porch.
I've had three other encounters.

So there was only a special connection because you were both from Louisiana?

Right. A non-supernatural event couldn't rationally explain this one.

How do you differentiate between ghost sightings, Bigfoot sightings, alien sightings, angel sightings, etc.? Why believe in one and not the other?
