I can recall at least 4.

1. A guy I grew up with was found dead in the woods in his car from a gun shot wound.

2. My cousin's aunt disappeared and was found dead 2 years later. A co-worker killed her.

3. A girl I went to school with was shot dead during a drug deal.

4. A friend's mom disappeared. Her remains haven't been found. Was last seen at work. Car was still at work.

1 was murdered and the killer walked but was shot/killed later

1 HS classmate was shot while he was robbing an offduty NYPD officer at a drive through ATM

My wife's childhood neighbor was a victim of one of the BR serial killers (white dude, can't remember the name)

Only 1. A lady I worked with at a grocery store at my first job. A crackhead broke into her house thinking no one was there. He stabbed for over 40 times in front of her kids.

If you don't count died in combat, 1. If you count combat, 6.

ETA: The spinoff thread made me realize I counted a murderer I knew as murdered.

I know the OP was asking for murders but I thought it was still somewhat interesting. He was killed when we were in 10th grade. Idiot and a friend decided to rob someone at an ATM using a pellet gun. Stood in front of the car with the gun and took 6 shots to the chest while the other guy ran off.

One.
Was on high school track team together.
He was murdered much later on when he tried to take it up with some other guy's woman.

Maybe more, for I haven't seen nor heard from many others from my youth.

Just one

My old babysitter

Her husband shot her. She was probably in her 70s if I had to guess

Unfortunately, the same as the OP.

First was a teenage girl who was the sister of a friend of mine. She worked in a fast food joint and after closing up and getting ready to head home she was killed outside the business and robbed of the daily take. They found her body in the dumpster behind the building. She was only 17 yrs. old.

Then I had 2 co-workers who spit the bit and killed their wives and then committed suicide. One went as far as to pour gasoline in the car after he killed his wife and when he shot himself in the head, it ignited the gas and burned the car, cremating them both.

Finally, a friend of mine was killed by his son when the kid took off his head with a shotgun while he slept. All because the dad wouldn't let his 15 yr. old use the car to go out with friends. The kid then dug a hole right outside the house and buried his dad and it was cadaver dogs that found the grave 3-4 days later.

Went to H.S. with a few of Teresa Halbach's relatives. For those that don't know, she was killed by Steven Avery and was the subject of Making a Murderer
