Almost every time they were showing a shot on TV, the majority of fans in the background had their cell phone out taping the shot.

While I agree with your point in general, there are the instances of something amazing or crazy or tragic happening and you catching it on film.

I mean, AFV used to pay 10K a week for the good shite.

No but I thank those that do this, and post the ENTIRE concert through social media. I get to experience the same thing they did while sitting on my couch, without paying for the ticket and overpriced drinks.

Win for me

And stupid motherfrickers were staring at it through a 4 inch screen instead of taking in the spectacle of a 50 foot fricking pyramid floating in midair above the crowd with a goddamned rainbow coming out of the top timed perfectly to Roger Waters singing "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon".

i literally shoot 2 or 3 30 second to 1 minute long videos to remember the night by. i'm not trying to film a documentary of the show.

there's balance to everything. i agree that people who hold their phones up in front of their face for the entirety of a 2 hour show are awful.

i dont have social media. literally do this as a souvenir of sorts and its just to share with the wife.

I limit myself to 1 video no longer than 45 second max at any show i'm at. Just want to have a video to remember/look back on the concert. I'll watch the videos I have once in a Blue Moon. If you're filming 75% of the concert and showing all your friend every single video you then you're an a-hole and you have a problem.

All those morons have Vertical Video Syndrome. At least turn the phone to landscape if you're going to film.

So that's what a finale is at a concert. This has been irking me for years!

I made a point to stop filming shite for that very reason while ago.. I think it hit me while me and the wife were on a gondola ride in Venice....I was taking a bunch of pics trying to get them right and filming etc...and it hit me...I'm missing the whole fricking thing

Also...I've gotten bitched out once because I didn't film all of us singing my nephew happy birthday..not sure why it was my job anyway... but that shite really gets me. No one was ever going to watch a video of people singing happy birthday...but sure was a cool moment to participate in

Instead of actually watching and enjoying where they are at.

There is something worse than that now. There are people that go and just broadcast it all on Facebook Live the whole time just to get likes. We watched a woman do this at a concert a few weeks back. Why pay for the ticket and go just to get some people that DGAF about you watching and liking your stream?

I was hoping security would eventually find her and shut it down but they never did. If I would have been behind her I would have complained about her blocking my view the whole time.

7...I counted 7 people in the bottom picture who are NOT on their phone. One of them is a kid who seems awestruck...and that's pretty awesome
