The impact people don't realize is its going to hurt the travel and other industries that then will impact others like food and beverage, those that service hotels like electricians, HVAC companies, etc.
Loans are laughable, they have to be paid back. If you don't have the money to pay a loan they won't help. I'm not a doomsdayer we'll recover just fine, but its going to be a hard couple of months I think.

There are over 1,500 confirmed cases in the US right now. Only 10 of them are in critical condition. Precaution is fine. Panic is not.

Folks at my office were already a little concerned with the Saudi’s flooding the crude market but that shite still has to be refined. We also do so many other energy based projects along with plastics, so I’m grateful to have the job I have.
We may experience some light layoffs but that will be temporary and short. There’s still a shite ton of projects we have coming down the pipe and after speaking with most of our clients this week, it was made clear that none are even considering canceling projects.
People can scoff at this post and say I’m being overly optimistic but I’m telling y’all now once this shite blows over, there’s going to be balls to the new projects. I think Trump signs an EO to cut more taxes and loosen regulations even more which I am thrilled with and will be good for everyone.
On another note, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this virus from a rational, average Joe: this thing is highly contagious but if you’re younger than 75 and have at least meh health, you are going to survive. Seriously, your health would have to be extremely poor. I’m blown away at the irrational level of panic. Definitely not saying to take this virus lightly but wash your hands and arse, cover your fricking mouth when you cough and sneeze and use common sense. People should be doing these things daily anyway but we got some filthy motherfrickers in the OT.

I can’t believe the irrational panic we’re seeing. The precautions they’ve put out should be easy to follow. I can’t believe we have this many people in this country without common sense.

Afraid this will have a huge effect on LA. The hospitality industry is already taking it on the chin. Add the oil price war to the picture and none of us can imagine the magnitude.
Offering SBA disaster loans to business may save some small business, but a lot of folks that get laid off will not have a job to return to. Unemployment can only go so far in a family household.
