As I said in a company meeting today, wake me up when people start turning into zombies.
This just a bunch of hype.
The panic though. That’s dangerous.

Ridiculous. Hang in there. There could be a lot of opportunities during the bounce back
I was told in a side conversation that I'm on the top of the callback list. Have two interviews setup for Monday but the way things are heading I'm doubtful face to face interviews will be happening for a while.
Legit bummed out. This whole past week has been a kick in the dick. Most layoffs I'll see coming because I'll stay on a project until its over. This one got me by surprise when they told us it was COVID related

Ten days ago there were 75 confirmed cases. So, in ten days we have 20 times as many. So, in ten days from now do we have 30,000? That's a lot of sick people. Many that will die.
When people use the term “fear monger” this is what they’re talking about.
You’re literally making shite up.

I'll be among the last to lose mine...IMHO(military). However, I'm currently trying to transition to gainful private sector employment and that has all but dried up in the last week. Thought I was going to be done with the DoD as my primary income in the next few months... probably not the case anymore.
ETA: I don't think this comes down to me being the "last to lose my job". I do believe some folks are going to be blowing the dust off of their resumes at the end of this. My post was more an observation of the struggle of finding new work in this environment.

Hmmmm....looks like I shorted it by 3000-4000. Fear monger you say? It's now reality.

Between the stock market and losing my job I’m fricked. I don’t know what to do. I started drinking again because of this too(day 6). They closed down all the AA meetings. I’ve got till the end of the month until I’m homeless. After that I have no idea what I’m going to do.

That requires intelligence. But they’ll no doubt bitch about the guvment not doing what they should to “help them.” I’ll enjoy seeing their sorry asses melt.
I’m sure you can understand the difference between someone who’s job, business, income, etc. we’re decimated by a government-mandated closure vs. someone who chooses not to work and simply receive government assistance.

I got laid off March 6. Thank God for the four weeks severance pay, now is not the best time to be trying to find another job.
