I lived in the city through the 90s. My house was broken into in 95. I had a gun pulled on me around 97.
If you’re there long enough, shite’s going to happen.

I had to watch an entire Revivalists set. That was rough.

Well until you are dead. You are kind of forgetting the hundreds of people every year that can’t do what they want in New Orleans anymore because they were killed in new orleans.
You sound just like the people who won’t go out to eat still because of Covid.

I died a few months ago. I don’t recommend it. The afterlife (there is a heaven AND a hell) does not offer answers.

then what you going to do about it, tough guy? Move away like a coward?

yeah i'm a coward b/c i don't want to live with fricking animals.
I know what i'm not going to do about it. I'm not going to live in an area i don't feel comfortable in. And you can work at a McDonalds in Covington just as easy as you could in New Orleans buddy.

Must be nice to have a job where you can live in a bubble and be constantly protected
You mean it must be nice to live in a society where i don't have to always be on guard that i might get mugged, or my car might get broken into, or someone might steal shite out of my back yard while i sleep? Why would anyone not want that? It's not like that doesn't exist. We're just too stupid to see it living here in Nola/BR and refusing to leave b/c your whole family still lives here. and i'm one of them b/c i'm still in BR, and when my kids finish high school i'll be leaving the next day.
DOn't use the stupid job excuse as to why you have to stay in Nola. It's not that hard to find a job somewhere else, assuming you are worth a shite at working.

I had the window smashed on my truck the year NOLA hosted the superbowl.

I got hustled one time by this guy that bet me 10 that he could tell me where I got my shoes…
His Answer was on my feet. I said frick off, then several of his associates surrounded me. Gave him the $10 lol.
My BIL tried to tell the guy he was wearing his brother's shoes, and that his were at home. Similar outcome with the associates and the eventual $10 payment.

I wonder who has had bad things happen to their animals. The animals are predominantly on the receiving end.

I've lived in uptown since 2009 and have had my car broken into once. I don't ever drive downtown unless parking in a paid garage with security - trust me, it is worth every penny these days
Things have gotten much worse lately but if you avoid certain locations and scenarios (i.e. parking in an unmonitored surface lot during a Pels game), you're a lot less likely to run into trouble.

And let’s look at the woman in her 60s. Well for 60 years she wasn’t killed in New Orleans either, until one day she was. And she prob had a longer streak of nothing happening to her than you did.
Show me the stats on non-drug using middle aged white males with no criminal records who are murdered in New Orleans annually, and that they are significantly higher than anywhere else, and I'll take that into account. A few high profile cases aren't going to make me move to a place I don't want to live or hide inside.

Car broken into twice.
My brother had his car stolen from his driveway uptown.
Saw a guy get stabbed for his wallet in the quarter years ago. He lived and was fine.

I don’t go to New Orleans, but I will speak for all the dead people! They are not happy!

Most people call that civilized society, but not NOLA fans.

House broke into.
Caught the attempted pickpocket in the act.
My young son was accosted by a drunk bum.
Don't know if you count these as bad?
