Like you think anyone on the OT is going to admit this.

They all want you to believe everyday can be Christmas if they want it, when it reality a shite ton of them are probably in massive credit card debt.

I used my Christmas bonus to buy everyone else gifts. Didn’t go into debt, but it didn’t go to savings either. I don’t mind it. I like giving.

I told the wife to cut back this year. We only spent about 20k or so. Paying that card off next week once the paycheck hits this Friday.

I used a credit card on 2 of the gifts I got my kids. It's something I can have paid off pretty soon. I usually pay off my cards every month for perks, but after Christmas I may carry a balance through Feb before I get it caught up. Oh well, I enjoy making my kid's happy and if I have to cut a few corners for 2 months, so be it.

Thank you for being honest. Plenty more in your shoes. My recommendation is for you to save throughout the year so you don’t find yourself in debt at the end of the year.

Don’t spend much at all on my kid from Santa. We get her more than Santa brings, if it becomes an issue at school we will just have her ruin Santa for those kids. Grandparents probably spend more than we do from us and Santa combined. LEGO sets seem to be the mostly costly thing we get her right now because we are a no/limited technology when it comes to her.

Was gonna put a new shed on the card but got a sweet deal with no credit check and no down payment! Just $300 a month for 60 months got me one big enough for the new 4 wheelers! Looks bad arse next to the trailer too!

Isn’t all the debt going to be forgiven anyway?

We save up $150/month throughout the year, so we end up around $1800 for Christmas shopping. Works out pretty well and keeps us from resorting to credit cards.

Yeah, I usually carry a balance on the old credit card for a few months after Christmas.

Idk about going into debt, but I spoiled my two boys for sure.
Kept seeing things and thinking "they're going to love this!"
Don't care, loved seeing their excitement this morning.

Definitely spent a lot of money on my wife’s gift this year. But I planned ahead and saved for it. Zero debt here.

I put the gifts on my credick card but it's not a ton of money. I can just send a check when I get the next bill.
