I smoke a joint and look at nature.

Thanks, I’ve been following your posts.
That's awesome man but ignore 90% of them unless it's about mushrooms

Have to be careful with teenagers in the house so can’t really microdose at this time but looking forward to that a few years from now if it’s available.
I've done it raising 3 kids and none of them knew until we told our oldest who is now 24 that we do it. There were posters in thread I started that gave advice on some sites to buy from, I checked them out. They can come in pill form and they are discreet about shipping. I have no idea about quality though. Or just wait it out like you said, follow some of the good advice already in this thread.

Specifically, can you totally tune things out?
According to my wife (no pics), often.

I can relax my mind by focusing my body or relax my body by focusing my mind but I can't really relax both at the same time. For example, sitting on the beach just lost in the rhythm of the ocean is something I can not do. I can however block out pretty much anything stressful by focusing on something else. That something else is usually mental hypothetical "problems" that have little to no connection to my actual life but require significant bandwidth to "solve". Those problems usually have math just complex enough to keep my mind fully occupied but not complex enough for me to not be able not to pick up a pen and paper or a calculator.

Not sure how, but I have the ability to immediately forgot about work problems the moment I step out that door. Maybe it's because I'm not around it, but it was the same for me when I was in the Marines. I took off the uniform and I became normal me. Wish I could say the same for family and finances.

I had a semi-stressful childhood and learned to tune out the unpleasant noise - I think the term for that is "compartmentalize" - it's there but not front and center - as far as career/work, the advent of email in the 90s made totally disconnecting impossible and that has been compounded by smart phones - again, I can tune it out but it's always there.

Simply cannot do it at home. On vacation… absolutely. Don’t even think about work.

If so, it's time to find a new job, man.
No I don't work 16 hours a day, man. I have children, man.
I said my job is stressful not unmanageable. I also get paid handsomely for what I do.

Oddly enough, I’m relaxed more at work than vacation. It’s backwards for business owners sometimes. I have a great staff that can handle stuff, but vested interest is so great that it’s hard to shut it all off completely.

My wife can look me in the eye, ask me a direct question, then immediately tune me out and completely ignore the answer.
It is fricking unreal.

Absolutely, I turn things off at will. My life is relatively stress free, and I stopped watching any news channels a few years ago.
Turn off the news, eat well, drink less.

A couple weeks ago my better and I stayed at a residence in type place for 5 days. I did less than nothing. My liked vegging out in the ice cold room and did a little work. I had a hard time sitting around. I wondered around town and it was too damned hot to walk trails, which is something I wanted to explore.
I ended up at 2 goodwill stores looking for used CDs, a tractor supply and Wmt super center, looking for stuff to buy.
I could not fully relax.

I can for hours on end. No drugs or alcohol needed. It's a blessing and a curse.

I can easily.
I sleep the sleep of the just.

I'll actually be genuine for once on here.
I learned early on to keep my focus on the big picture instead of obsessing over each individual mundane task, obstacle, problem etc. I'm not saying to ignore your obligations or problems but I think allowing them to consume you is a good way to get beaten down by them.
The best analogy I've come up with is if you have ever dabbled in the market, crypto, poker or anything that involves charts, just zoom out. If you look at a chart on a 5min time range, every percentage point down looks devastating but the moment you zoom out to a weekly or monthly chart, those valleys turn into speed bumps and most of the time disappear all together. You gain a new perspective and realize that 2 week downtrend is actually part of a 2 year uptrend. One recent stumble or new obstacle doesn't erase all of the progress you've made up that point and it doesn't mean you've suddenly lost the ability to build on the uptrend going forward.
