Reading all of these threads about how folks are being pushed to their limits as far as a hard lifestyle in LA. For how many of you is Ida the last straw?

Moving to Louisiana next year.

I submitted like 20 applications to jobs all across the country yesterday, but that has nothing to do with Ida, just LA in general

It is mind boggling to me that any “normal” people would choose to still live there

I left SD last Thursday to move back to Louisiana, I am not kidding.

May end up in Houston one day but that is mostly medical related. Even though Houston is on the coast, they have a way to avoid most hurricane activity. Have family in Lake Charles and Metairie. Metairie family is never leaving there. Lake Charles family would be more open to it especially if they get another hurricane in the short term. We are here primarily because of family as our work could be found anywhere and all things considering we don't have any issues with storms for the most part.

I know two of my friends that say they're done, but will they follow through? I'm not sure.

Half your shite gone or destroyed, no a/c, no gas, no electricity, no answers, and the same thing tomorrow, Friday, Saturday, Sunday……would drive anyone to the limit.
People make drastic changes when they are pushed to the limit.

I'm definitely out, but it's not hurricane-related. Plenty of other reasons to leave.
