I moved out 'permanently' a little over two years ago.

The weather played a small part, but not the hurricane factor, more the oppressive fricking heat and humidity.

Some of us don’t have any choice.

If I’d flooded again like I did in May it would have been the last straw for me

Yeah that's a bigger issue for me than the occasional hurricane.

There aren't many areas that are completely immune to natural disasters.

Wildfires are a threat here, like the one in Gatlinburg a few years back. Also potential ice storms like in TX last winter. Flash flooding happens, as recently as today thanks to the remnants of Ida.

For the most part though, it's a much more pleasant climate than South LA.

Let’s not forget the murder count, and the potential to become the victim of random violent crime.

So happy I left the shite hole just over a month ago.
No amount of great food parades & partying salvages the utter shite hole that is Louisiana.
But most people refuse to admit the truth & think the next governor, next infrastructure bill or newest congressman will restore the state.
Absolutely nothing will change until they choose principle over partying.
Sad but true.
NOLA born& raised. The NOLA before liberal filth destroyed it.

No, just in May. I think it has a lot to do with the newly developed property across the road that’s on a hill

Next flood and I’m gone.

Violent crime is skyrocketing in most decent sized cities in the US. It’s a widespread problem not specific to Louisiana.

I tolerate colder weather better than the heat and humidity for whatever reason. As long as we aren't talking about -30. I'd rather it be 18 degrees than 97.

As a kid, I used to wonder why people in Godzilla movies would continue to live in Tokyo when every year he'd show up wrecking shite. Well, that's what a hurricane is like and my dumb arse is still living here. I have a great job, but get headhunters emailing multiple times weekly about opportunities across the country. But, my inlaws are here and they are very close to my kids. Don't feel like I can take them away from their grandparents.
