So many people on here sound miserable and would rather move to a better place but they seem stuck strictly due to “friends and family”.

For the record, I’ve been in Houston since Katrina, but I was echoing comments from family and friends over the years, and I understand their feelings.

You sure have a very strong opinion on a lot of different people and topics and seem to be painting with a pretty broad brush.

I would love to hear about this Eutopia you have found

Left Louisiana last November for Fort Lauderdale. It’s about a 200x increase in quality of living.

Only + is little more to do and Texas leadership versus LA.

Public schools, infrastructure, jobs and overall economic outlook. I think some of you don’t fully understand the difference in Texas metros compared to Louisiana metros. It’s night and day.

Lol. I knew you would pull out a small mountain town in a remote nowhere.

That place looks great, but it isn’t a viable option for most people.

I moved here from Texas and have made it my home and don’t see where my quality of life is any worse overall here than any other place I’ve lived.

Sure the government here sucks but our local area isn’t terrible and while I could probably do a little better somewhere else, maybe, it just wouldn’t outweigh what we have made here.

When retirement comes, I may look up Laramie, but right now I’m happy as one could hope.

I also went through 2 hurricanes last year back to back and just got to move back in to our home so I do know what most of you guys are going through with emotions

Yea I mean I’d love to pickup and move to Wyoming but how feasible is that for most people? It’s beautiful and id love to live there, just not possible for most.

Pre Covid I think you may have a strong case, but WFH (work from home) remote work in a post Covid world has allowed plenty of people the opportunity to live where they want to and worry about work second. Not the other way around.

I would, but can't anytime soon. Wife's parents are here, as are our kids. I can see us moving in the next 10 years. I can run my practice remotely.

Being from Louisiana is like being in a cult to many. It’s why they feel the need to wear LSU shirts or Saints jerseys whenever they travel out of state. Look at me, I’m from Louisiana!

Levees held during a cat 4 hurricane and power is coming back uptown and cbd. Why would I leave Nola? If I lived anywhere else in the state I would def consider leaving this state.

North Louisiana gets a bad rap, especially on here, but it doesn’t have hurricanes.
