Moreno will be worse

Moreno is smarter and probably won’t scam NOLA as badly as the current grifter.

But Moreno is way way left and will make things worse because of that.

Attracting business back to NOLA won’t happen.

Latching onto the fed teat as much as possible will happen.

Why wasn’t Obama elected a third time?

Because FDR.
Four terms that Mother Nature shortened to 3+ by his dying in office after some bad decisions in the ending of WWII.

Something about decrepitude seeping in ....in the third term....? Gosh, would that include Joe Biden the designated hitter?

I bet she won’t have a Vappie scandal or take a million trips out the country. All Moreno has to do is be professional.

New Orleans may be a great city historically but it’s far from that now. We once considered Houston and Atlanta to be our rivals, remember? Well, we’re having trouble staying ahead of Mobile and Jackson now and can’t compare to Nashville or Austin.
The Orleans parish population is poor, ignorant and unaware. The surrounding parishes? More middle class and better educated but lacking the drive and aspirations you find in more dynamic and prosperous areas.
In short, settle in. This is a broke dick town and there are more LaToyas in our future.

I don't think it's insane to think that Moreno will be exponentially more honest and less self serving but also may push for policies just as leftist or even more so. Ultimately compounding those policies into the future could be "worse" while her being less of a grifter than Latoya.

Never forget that first term Mitch was a damn good mayor. The city has never been as clean and vibrant as it was during first term Mitch. New Orleans was voted as one of the best places in the country to do business in circa 2010. The Saints won the Super Bowl. I spent a ton of time in the city during that period. I wish it would return because at its best it’s such an awesome place.

It’s become a microcosm of the state. We can’t elect competent leadership if we tried so no competent leaders will emerge. Why waste your time?

But people still know her policies will not help, and will still vote for her in hopes she is not "as bad".

NOLA is the way it is because of the people who think this way and still vote for these leftist grifters.

I also find it funny that a bunch of people that likely voted for Latoya are making fun of the OP. If you aren't from this state, you likely aren't aware how many terms a mayor has left to serve.

I’m not a fan of Moreno politically, but she is very popular and well liked in the city and metro area.

If nothing else she brings a positive tone to the city that hasn’t been around in awhile.

Teedy was so controversial and hostile. I don’t think she’ll be missed by anyone except her inner circle.

I’ve always thought she was sexy AF. No idea about her Politics, but it can’t be worse than the previous moron. Hell yea, Moreno. I can get behind that choice!

Moreno will not be worse.

She will work hard. I can tell from personal discussions that she understands what actually concerns people: financial solvency, crumbling infrastructure, and crime.

Yes, she is a flaming liberal and has some unfortunate “true believer” tendencies.

And that CAN be more dangerous than a lazy dummy like Teedy.

But I think Moreno will be relatively good by NOLA standards.
