I'm happy with upper end of intermediate/lower advanced in my mid 30's.

A note on bench press: it is such a technique lift. I promise I could add 10% to most novice lifters after a day of instruction.

Sorry for you long-armed baws, bench will never be kind to you....but deadlifts will

That's why I'm in the elite for bench. I know the proper technique. I'm still trying to get deadlift down.

No no no. I like the down votes. I take them as "damn, I can't do that much."

You arch and everything? I'm not tall but I'm 6'. Dips helped a lot with my flat bench.

Thanks. Was there a path to get to your 585 once you hit 500 that was different than before? I want to get to 600 by my 31st birthday next October.

Couple things I changed that I think got me there:
I deadlift fewer working sets. Good warm-up then one set of 5 at a heavy weight. DL is extremely taxing on the body.
Also went from doing them in Chucks to doing them in socks.
I eat cleaner, but the day before heavy deads I make damn sure to get lots of carbs.

Consider stronglifts 5x5 to her your numbers up too. It feels like you're not doing enough at first but if you stick to it, all your numbers will climb. Good luck!

Dont lift as often or near as consistently as I use to. Have to have shoulder and possibly back surgery, hope to hit it hard again following those. Wasnt to far from elite when I was lifting heavy though. 3 plates at 6ft 185, have no need or desire to put that up again though these days.

That's power lifting

Weight lifting is clean and jerks and snatches.

6'0 170lb

265 bench (damn long arms)
355 squat
465 deadlift

Man those are some pretty massive numbers. I consider myself fairly strong for my weight, but I am basically right at or 5-10 pounds below Advanced for bench, shoulder press, squat and deadlift.

I'm a former college athlete, at my strongest I was right at intermediate in the bench and about halfway between intermediate and advanced in the dead and squat. I'm perfectly ok with this, some people, especially with tall and lean bodies just aren't meant to push tons of weight.

I'm in my low 40s now but in my prime years I would have been considered an elite jumper/sprinter/athlete compared to the overall population. As I've aged I've seen more benefits from lifting heavier for me, but when younger actually lifting too heavy at one point negatively impacted my athletic performance, although that was due in part to not focusing enough on flexibility and balance.

My current powerlifting total is approaching 1200 right now and I'm old as frick..

I'm elite in bench and in between advanced and elite in squat, deadlift, shoulder press and front squat.
