How long until tattoos arent “cool” and mainstream/accepted anymore?

Obviously us enlightened OTers understand that tattoos are trashy but the general public does not
Everything that becomes popular goes out of style eventually. How long until tattoos suffer this fate?

When laser removal gets really good and fairly inexpensive.

About the time people with all the tats are the OTs age and things they like are uncool at that point.

They were never cool
They weren’t ever accepted either
It’s more of a marker for trauma that was understood by society except back then it was sorry you went to jail or thank you for going to war
Nowadays it’s “sorry your dad wasn’t around” or “wow you must be really mad at your parents for bringing you to church”

When young people start to see tons of nasty old people covered in gross shriveled tattoos

Seems like they are only growing in acceptance. Any time I’m around 20-30 somethings in my professional field, ALL of them have visible tattoos and don’t bother trying to cover.

Bingo. It's this generation's version of cutting. Walking billboards of trauma.

They’re ok if it’s one or two but a bunch of small tattoos all over the body just doesn’t look good. Either get one large or one or 2 small ones. With meaning.

When their kids see their aging parents with them and decide they'd rather be bigender and get a penis or a vagina instead.

I’d say about now. At least the heavily tatted up woman fad has faded out. I feel sorry for the ladies who rode that trend wave. For a couple of years of being “cool”, they have permanently disfigured themselves. I hope it was worth it to them. But now it looks so dated and try hard. Classy seems to be making a come back, and tattooed women are out.

A good 20 years probably.
If there is a way to painlessly do away with them or to permanently cover them up.
If not, then people are just gonna have fun with it and doodle on themselves

I recently went in for laser removal for a tattoo I got as a teenager over 20 years ago. For a smaller tattoo or lighter ink they can have them erased in as few as 2 sessions for $100 - $150 a session. They have a laser for red ink now that they used to not have. I mentioned to the specialist that she is going to have tons of business in 5-10 years when all these 20 something girls are starting families and regret their neck and forearm tattoos.

Man yall need to get outside and meet more people. I'm not a tattoo guy but quite a bit of the people I hang out with have tattoo's and none of them have them because of trauma. They have them just simply because they wanted them. Crazy how out of touch with reality some of yall are.
