Sounds like she won’t be your sister-in-law for long.

My wife and I have been married for 13 years. She lives 7 hrs from us. Had a lot of drug problems most of her life.

Maybe, marriage isn't for him --- and I don't mean that just on the surface either.

In the meantime, he needs to focus on himself first and foremost. Get himself right physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. These are called PIES. He can't help her if he doesn't help himself first.

And it's not being selfish either. He is going to put himself in a better position, hopefully to be strong enough to help work through their problems together but if not, he will be better off tomorrow than where he is today. It's a win-win situation for him.

Sounds like your brother can't lay the D down right.

Tell her to call Jody. Or Walt, he needs some love.

I can’t imagine subjecting myself to marriage twice, let alone two divorces. Sounds like years of pain. Just being married once is trial by ordeal.

My dad has been divorced twice. The 2nd being my mom. He said he'd never get married again after they divorced in the late 80s and never has. He's 70 now.

I am often surprised at how quickly people marry again after a failed first marriage...seems to me like people would be a lot more hesitant after the first round.

My 2nd marriage lasted 1.5 years. I was so happy after the divorce, I celebrated at 10 am with a few beers at a watering hole before heading back to work.

I think she'll end at 7. She used to be quite attractive so she could always find some sucker to leech off of. Years of hard living have taken her looks though and she's 50 now.

Most men aren’t compatible with one woman for more than a few years. And a lot of men seek damaged women to “save them” as a lifelong pattern ( hi Dad ) . I think a lot of good men could be divorced twice.

I’ve been married for 25 years, but only because I am willing to betray certain aspects of my essential male nature that make life great. Men make bargains because they have too much to lose. And when it doesn’t work out they feel defective and try again. Nobody wants to be lonely and living in a shitty apartment counting pennies.

Nobody has more balls than a straight good looking successful man of normal psychology that voluntarily chooses bachelorhood. That’s an insanely ballsy choose. Those guys are a different breed from those of us that allow ourselves to be “ civilized “ by women, the vast majority of who are dysfunctional.

Yeah I said it.

Never marry a bipolar woman. They are a blast to date, and the sex is as crazy as they are, but that’s the overcompensation of the swings, and her desire to have that benefit overshadow her constant control issues and her lows...Not that that’s perfect for some guys I know, but it gets old really fast, and makes a long term, steady relationship Very hard without a mature foundation.

If no kids, he should get out immediately before any accidental kids happen.

People like to say life is short. True. But life is also long and being in a miserable relationship will only make it feel much much longer. Tell him to punt.

I had scroll back up to make sure I read that right. I’ve worked for fewer employers over my career than marriages she has been in. Marriage should be her career description.

Is she trashy because she’s been married seven times or has she always been that way?
