How long did your OEM car battery last?

I have 6yrs on my OEM and still going strong. Our old Honda, seems like I'm changing it every 2-3yrs when it starts to show indication of dying.

My tundra is typically every 80,000 miles or so. Like clockwork. Just put my 4th battery in her.

Probably a couple years, on average...

Just changed mine on my Canyon, about 60k miles. Been 3 years.

Two new Fords had new batteries before each truck hit 10k miles. Whatever battery they put in it was garbage and likely the exact same battery they replaced it with. Under warranty but it was a huge PIA

I feel like every 2-3 years is standard now. As soon as it starts creeping up to that time and we get a cold day, it's done.

Ten years. I was quite impressed.

We have 2 2021 Toyotas with the original batteries. No issues so far, but this probably jinxed it, so thanks.

Should've kept your mouth shut....
I usually got between 5-6 years.

Mine went 10 years before it started getting weak. Pretty dang good IMO.

My last 2 OEM batteries lasted 5 years. Seems all after-market batteries are now low quality shite that last 2-3 years max, regardless of price.

Right around 100K miles on my GMC Sierra Denali. Length of time was 5 years.

I just replaced the OEM battery in my 2019 Outback a few weeks ago. I was confused because I normally go through batteries every 2-3 years. Stopped buying the high-end batteries a long time ago because they simply don't last any better than the bottom tier batteries.

You ever buy an optima? They tend to last a loooooooong time.

Six years is about the max. First cold morning will most likely get it. I had six years on my wife’s OEM battery and changed it out for peace of mind.

My last 2 trucks have been diesels, and they're hard on batteries, and they require 2 of them.
I typically get ~18-24 months out of a pair. I always buy the set with a 3 year warranty that way I get a free set before the warranty is up.
At one point O'Reillys would reset the warranty every time you got replacements. So on one truck I went ~6 years without ever paying, they changed that policy though.

If it’s a Panasonic battery in a Toyota made in Japan, the battery seems to last forever. Unsurprisingly, you cannot purchase these in the US the last time I checked.
