How long can you hold your breath?

I’m for some reason trying to get better at holding my breath in the last week. I’m remarkably inconsistent. I have gotten up to 1:02

If you want to hold your breath for longer, hyperventilate beforehand and try thinking of French fries while you’re holding your breath. I picked up that tip as a kid and it sounds weird but it works, I suppose because it takes your mind off the fact that you’re holding your breath.

The think that has helped is take a big breath (say 90%) and then a second later pull in that last 10%.

When I was a MCIWS, I'd imagine 2-3 minutes. I'd imagine closer to 1-2 now as I'm a decade older and fatter/out of shape.
