How is your city dealing with the scourge of panhandling?

Fort Worth has posted street signs everywhere telling people to not give them anything

We have signs at the intersections that say don't contribute to them and has a QR code to donate to the city's homeless fund or some shite.

I find it a great way to give back to the community and to empty my change bucket in my car.

I honestly think those cats have designated territories. Always the same cats at the same intersections.

Back when I lived in downtown I used to let them wash my wheels and put tire shine on em for a cool Andrew Jackson. CSB

I wonder if any "homeless" were smart enough to make a QR Code sticker to place over the city QR Code and the get the money sent to them instead. Create a fake account with a real sounding name.

That's hilarious. Also, I don't know why folks are so against contributing to those people. I give them my pocket change sometimes because I think that's what Jesus would want me to do and I believe God smiles on such charitable giving.

We have none. Land of the billionaires doesn't tolerate that.

I was in both of those places today and still am in one of em. You probably moved here recently. Thanks for making the traffic worse. And stay out of the left lane on the toll road or else

When Athens had coin operated parking meters, they would place some every other corner on the sidewalk saying if you want to help the homeless, donate your change here to the city fund to help them instead of giving it directly to the junkies. I don't know how well it worked or how the money got spent, but I haven't seen that before or since, anywhere else.
