Depends on the engine; if it is a 2UZ-FE I would change it no matter what it looks like. That is an interference engine, so if the belt fails, it means catastrophic failure.

I thought that was the only one they put in that gen of Tundras?

I have the 2UZ in my LC100. Bulletproof except for that belt!

We had one for 4 years. Traded in the worst POS Buick Enclave for it. It made great gas mileage and never had a single problem. We outgrew it and traded it in last year for a Highlander. But we paid $33k for the RAV4 and got $22k for it on trade with 98k miles on it. Our hybrid Highlander has also been a great vehicle so far.

My wife bought one thinking it was 4 WD , salesman told her it was. No issues except I hated that car. Lovely day when Carvana drove away with it and I had a check in my hand for 22K.

Granted, the picture below is from a 2019 RAV4, but even then, this was dated.

Almost 2 years ago, I drove a Rav-4 for 1300 miles over 2 days. It was comfortable, controls and sensors functioned perfectly and it got great gas mileage. It even handled well at highway speeds.

I do not see a valid complaint.

I’ve had my 2019 for 6 years now, under 100K and runs like it did the first day. The only thing I don’t like is no lights in the trunk otherwise it’s a good car.

so, all the people that would have in the past bought a Camry or corolla are now buying a RAV4
In my experience, the Camry crowd often goes for Highlanders.

I personally don’t care for them. But to answer your question, they are affordable, reliable and get food has mileage.

I think he said 2004, and I think the 2004 also came with the 5VZ 3.4 but I could be wrong.

Why don’t you find an updated pic of the new infotainment lazy arse. It’s not hard.
The ‘25 I drive’s tech is very user-friendly & fast. They just changed body styles with the ‘26 so it’s an updated version from the one I have.

Interior styling has never been a Toyota strength.

RAV 4 has high marks on Reliability, Owner Satisfaction, Resale Value, etc.

That and the Honda CRV, are the tops in class.

All true, and it has a good rating for safety from IIHS.

The side-impact is only rated "Acceptable " though, and other cars in its class have better ratings.

I want a truck again but do I get a new Tundra with the twin turbo?

I'm driving a VERY low mileage 2008 Lexus that has never given me one problem. I’ve been wanting to get either a V6 Tacoma or a V8 Tundra. However, as we all know, Toyota stop making those during the Biden administration.

I’m hoping that Toyota will see the light and go back to the V6 Tacoma and V8 Tundra now that the Trump administration has eased the CAFE standards.

There's just a few more months until the 2027s come out. If the Tundra goes to the V8 or the Tacoma to the V6, I will definitely be buying one of the two. if not, I’ll probably wait for the 2028 models and just keep driving the 2008 Lexus. It’s in great shape and still looks good.

I had one as a rental and took it to rigs in west Texas and new mexico. If the rav4 can defeat the lease roads of jai new mexico its tough.

Bought one for my daughter when she turned 16. Great first car. She's had it 6 years and other than oil changes and a set of tires it hasn't been in the shop. Great gas mileage. She takes it everywhere and it has been a perfect high school/college car for her.

Maybe that makes me poor?

Another crazy thing is that I bought it at the beginning of the pandemic before car prices went up. It's 6 years old and probably worth 70% of the price I paid for it.
