Comfortable, reliable, solid, safe, economical both in fuel and maintenance. I have a 2024 LE, does everything I need in a work commute and grocery getter. I don't care about bland as long as it works. Perfectly fine seeing half a dozen identical versions of it as I go to work, blends in as I do 80 mph on I-40.

I had to stop by the dealership to get a new key fob for my 2018 4Runner about a year ago. I asked one of the parts guys what he thought of the new Landcruiser. He said, "I'd drive that 5th Gen 4Runner until the wheels fall off."

This is my dilemma right now. I want a truck again but do I get a new Tundra with the twin turbo? Or stray from Toyota into a GMC 6.2L or Ford 5.0 coyote

My company car is a ‘25 mid level trim hybrid & it’s been a great vehicle. I don’t know what you’re talking about but the infotainment is up to date, easy to use and interior trim is above average. Sounds like you just like to whine.

Trucks are better with V-8s (my opinion).

Trucks have better resale with V-8s (fact).

Just say no to all of this. Find a 2021 Tundra with low miles and that has been well maintained.

The new CRVs are crap too

Have a 2025 CRV. It has a very nice ride, is quiet and the drive train is very smooth. 204 hp gives it some pep for a car with a 4 cylinder engine. Handles nicely and delivers about 25 mpg around town. Quite happy with it and it will last forever and a day. Probably longer than I will.

I'm 6'3" over 200 lbs and I don't find it cramped at all. Pretty easy for me to get in and out of which is not the case with a number of cars I've driven over the last few years.

Just bought a pathfinder 2026.

Platinum version but it has Bose drivers and needs tweaking.

Best part; no turbos.

The explorer I traded in was much faster but had two time bombs known as turbo chargers. It was quick I was getting nervous. It had 44k miles on it.

You truly have mostly shite options these days.

I'd lean to the 5.0. But that has a wet belt driven oil pump (prior was a chain).

The Chevies and Toyotas are shitting the bed these days.

Honestly the best option at this point might be the damn frontier, with its naturally aspirated V6.

I have a 3rd gen tacoma that inspires NO confidence. Some of the weird shite I hear coming from under that hood, with its (stupid) dual port/direct injection systems.

I was shopping cars a while back back and I test drove the RAV4, CRV, Mazda CX5, and the Hyundai Tucson and the one I like best was the Tucson. It had a better ride, was quieter, had the nicest interior, and was bigger on the inside.

Have you don’t a nationwide search for 2020-2021 with less than 50,000 miles?

Needle in a haystack to find a 4x4 not from the north or Rockies that’s under $45k with leather.

Depends on the engine; if it is a 2UZ-FE I would change it no matter what it looks like. That is an interference engine, so if the belt fails, it means catastrophic failure. If it is the 5VZ-FE I wouldn't bother as it is a non-interference engine. I would just run it until it failed and replace the belt.

I have a 3MZ-FE with the OG plugs and timing belt, and it has over 480k on the clock.
