That has to be a really hard age to be stuck in this quarantine shite. :(

I feel bad for the kids. My 13 year old is maxed out on Xbox and 1 on 0 basketball.

Being in some small arse apartment in a city, while single, sounds like a horrible quarantine.
My big brother is single and lives by himself. He doesn't live in a big city, but he facetimes with us every day and I can tell he's going crazy.

It sure has been nice to sleep in an extra hour, get my work done, and then have to decide if I am taking the boat or the jetski out in the afternoon. Fridge/freezer both stocked with meat/fish/booze. As long as gas stays available I will continue to live like it's spring break down here on the coast
I have 4 kids and still do and have all this
ETA: Except a jetski, I have nowhere to put one and don't want one

What I find odd is when people who talk about their great memories with their parents and grand parents are then so adamant about not having kids/shite on people with kids
I’m pretty sure OP gas shared stories of his fishing with his dad and paw paw are his best memories, yet he then he turns around and shits on people with kids, in multiple threads. That’s strange and doesn’t add up

This has been hard. Mine has been regressing in a lot of areas. My wife is working from home and on days where I still have to physically go in to work, he sits in front of Disney+ all day.
He was doing very well with potty training with daycare, but is regressing pretty bad with that and behavior with his routine being all jacked up.
Sounds like my older one is about 6-12 months older but we have seen some regression as well, mostly in his attitude and throwing tantrums. That part is tough. Tv has had to be a babysitter to a certain extent which I hate (and he loves). Luckily weather has been great in SELA this whole time so we can get him outside.

It's like being bipolar.
Fantastical highs and incredibly painful lows.
Not much in the middle

But I wouldn't trade places with you even if you paid me.
To be fair (since this thread is already going) - This is always an unfair stance to me. Wouldn't we ALL feel this way? Or at least 99% of people?
I don't want children personally (but certainly don't hate them), but I know if I got knocked up and went through with the pregnancy, I'd love the child unconditionally and never want to trade it for anything. I mean, we are wired to feel that way.
That's why these discussions always fall apart. Those with kids reply with the biologically wired love for their children in mind, but they're arguing with someone who does not have them. Comparing apples to oranges.
It would only be a fair comparison if Neck had children of his own and still didn't want them.

I just try to be honest. Some parents are super parents, I'm not. I love my kid to death and wouldn't change being a parent for the world, but it's not all roses all the time. At least for me.
He is hilarious though. Constant screaming for my attention while I'm on calls all day is not.

Or maybe those types had such a shitty childhood with their parents that they completely denounce the institution of parenthood at every chance they can get. Who exactly are they trying to convince? It's weird to brag about, for sure.
Like I said, the Snells on Ozark.

It would be awful to have a wife that didn't want children.

I’m working from home with my 3 year old, I’m aware of what she’s doing all day and will go play with her for a few minutes here and there throughout the day.
But this funny thing happens when it’s time for me to get off, the first thing I want to do is go and spend time with her. Maybe that’s playing outside, or just sitting on the sofa and watching whatever movie or tv show she’s big on at that time.
So yeah, I would say it’s pretty good.

This honestly is the most exhausting part about all this. He's not being bad, he just needs a lot of attention and that is not possible while working from home.

Probably factors into my not wanting kids. My parents are amazing people and I have a good relationship with them, but we are NOT a touchy-feeling "i love youuu" type of family. So I never craved that mother-child relationship.
I have tighter-knit friendships than I do cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. Very much subscribe to the "you choose your family" line of thinking. Although I guess it could be argued that your children are the family you create yourself.. Hmm.

Not if you also didn't want them.
When I met my SO, I was still pretty young and ~wanted kids~ in the sense that it was just the next step after you get married. A whole lot has changed since then. People love to tell me I'll change my mind on kids as I get older, but what they don't realize is that I DID change my mind. I wanted them, and ultimately ended up changing that stance. Believe me, I've given it more thought and consideration than anything else on earth.
I was afraid when he settled into his career that he'd change his stance on kids and I'd have to make some hard decisions, but luckily that hasn't happened. He turned 38 on Monday so its not like this is a 21 year old saying "I dOnT wAnT kIdS"
