How is alcohol, in particular liquor, legal and so easy to get?

It’s easily the worst drug that we have such easy access to. I know so many people who have died or almost died from drinking too much alcohol, and developing a problem.

I don’t know if it’s the worst but it had me in its progressive grips in me for a long time. Lost my job, repoed my truck, and almost lost my house. I think that’s one of the most destructive capacities of alcohol. It takes everything from you at a snails pace.

I always say it, after watching Airport drunken arrest videos or DWIs when the person is shite faced.
If alcohol were illegal today, it'd be hard to make it legal after seeing the state those people are in. It's crazy to think about.
The looks of it are similar to someone on Meth that's out of their mind.

Because the vast majority of people who consume it, do it occasionally and don’t get into a stupor. Many enjoy the taste, many drink a bit and feel nothing, not even a buzz. We have been consuming it since the beginning of recorded history. It would be like outlawing deserts because a few people can’t control their behavior and over eat to the point of obesity, and it causes family trauma due to disease and early death.

That enforcement is because the smell bothers people and much more importantly, to keep a certain group away from campus on game days
