Some of the dumbest people I know are college graduates. My ex girlfriend, a college grad, sent me this text one time.

“Do you wont halipinos on your pizza?”

On another occasion I had to convince her that the offer on Craigslist to grocery shop for $500 a week for a woman that was “in and out of the country” was a scam.

The college graduate pool has been so damn dumbed downed and diluted by all of this that it also makes it difficult on hiring managers. 20 years ago you could be assured you were at least hiring a competent individual if they had a degree. Now it’s a crapshoot unless they have a specialized degree. It can make it tough on the folks that chose not to go to college either. Some of my most logical and blessed with common sense friends never set foot in a college classroom, and they can damn sure spell Jalapeño

Sorry, I'm retarded. You're correct. I'm speaking about a state senator. Robert Adley.

Any Presidential candidate that runs on student loan forgiveness will inherit an extremely large voting base.

Bernie is in Venezuela right now putting the finishing touches on his overall economic plan, but it will include forgiving all college debt, medical debt, and home mortgages.

Free, free, free, we’ve waited too long.

At one time, companies could administer their own tests. Now since they can’t

They can't? I've worked at, and know several places that give aptitude exams to determine whether or not a candidate for the job opening is a fit.

Financially, it makes no sense to take out a $165,000 loan for a master’s degree that leads to a job where the average annual salary is $38,000—yet thousands of young people are making this choice. Only when they graduate do they understand the reality of their situation as they live paycheck-to-paycheck and find it next-to-impossible to save for a home, retirement, or even a rainy-day fund.

On what planet is this a good idea or possible?

I am currently a working grad student- my whole degree program is $17k.

You're right, wanting affordable education is being entitled.

frick you gramps. Boomers had the best situation of any American generation in history and they returned the favor by shafting their children.

Well, I am still paying student loans, too. Thing is, I knew what I was getting into when I agreed to pay tuition and got a great loan interest rate for it and write off the interest each year. If they hid the price of the education from you then I am in complete agreement with you. If you went in knowing the price, researched the job market/expected salary and just don’t like your cut then that’s a bit different. You can move back in with mommy, if you ever left.

I’d like to drive a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, but I can not afford it. I definitely don’t go get a loan for one and then complain about the price tag years after the fact.

Wanting affordable houses in the Hamptons is what I think is reasonable. Maybe a private jet for everyone?

I know we like find people or institutions to blame for our problems, but I don't agree with the title of the OP.

Everyone is responsible for their decision to pursue a particular career and any related costs in doing so. If someone piles up debt pursuing a philosophy, gender studies, African American studies etc.. and then can't find a decent job to pay those loans back, that's 100% on them.

And yet I bet you would you be happy to trade my 10 yr student loan payment of 600 bucks...which will be paid off in roughly 6 years... For your mortgage?

So yes. Monetarily, they are.

From a credit perspective, I do not have a real estate account. My credit profile is strong enough that it doesn't affect me.

$600/mo student loan is the same as what your mortgage would be? At what point will that college degree get you 3 bedrooms?
