A bit of a spinoff from the BestBuy thread.

19” was the biggest in my household for a decent amount of my childhood. We got one of those console monsters at some point, but the screen itself was either 23” or 25”.

Plasma and LED come along, and I’m rocking a 42” in 2005. Now, I have a 55”, and I feel like I’m the smaller end of the scale in 2026. A poster in the other thread said that he will be in the market for a 100” around Christmas.

How far will they go? Rooms are only so big if it’s a TV for a home.

My 65 looks small when compared to what's on the wall at Walmart now. It seemed behemoth when we bought it.

I think that eventually you will see some sort of wall covering that is the TV. This tech will allow you to make the viewing area as large or small as you want with a few button pushes on the remote. For that matter, I could see all the walls in a room having this covering so you can move the viewing area around as you move. Want to finish watching the game while starting dinner? Send the image into the kitchen. Can't hold it at the end of the fourth quarter? Send the image onto the bathroom wall so you don't miss a crucial play.

I have 65".

It is sitting in front of a single window across 2 built in cabinets and shelves. These were built back when 25" consoles were the thing.

It is really too big for the space but this was a better price than the others at the time.

I don't have anywhere to mount it

Well, four years ago a projector was the only "affordable" way to get 100" inches or more in my media room.

Now, due to wall size limitations it is unlikely I stick with another projector once it crashes.

120" is probably the minimum projector size now that 100" screens have become cost effective.

Ive got a 50 inch and it more then does the job. Anything more is just compansating for something if you know what i mean!

After having 65" for 10 years, the 75" is a big upgrade. MLB network gives excellent resolution and it's a great experience. I've been fortunate we've only had to trash a 40" tv. I think when the time comes I'll just give them away before they croak rather than worry with disposal.

I think it is maxed out. Then ultra short throw projectors will step in. Then eventually, fully immersive headsets that will make it feel like you are watchign on an IMAX screen.

Samsung's The Wall can go over 1000 inches.
146 inch starts at 220k.

I remember growing up thinking the 32" we eventually got (heavy as shite) was huge.

I remember the big screen my uncle got took 6 people to move. And you could only really see it straight on.

Then the flat screens came.

I remember thinking my 55" was hot shite.

Then the 62"

Then the 65"

Then...the 72" my wife said was too big for the bedroom.

Then the 65" eventually went out and I found an 84" for the living room. It barely fit, seemed so massive! (And I got it on sale for $665)

Now I got a bigger house and what once seemed almost wall side just feels...small.

I kind of want a bigger one but I there's no point really

Put them on the curb. They'll be gone before you know it.

One of the first things I bought after getting married and moving into our first house was a 32” Sony. That thing was HEAVY and awkward as frick to lift.

That at the armoire it went in are relics.

Also paid about $3k for a Phillips LCD when they first came out. Still have it…it’s the carry outaidr watch the game by the fire pit TV. Also heavy compared to today’s standards.

My living room back wall is 20ft x 20ft...120in would fit and look normal, just depends on the room
